If you want to take an image using the handset in a landscape position, then you can use
the shutter button on the side of the handset, but if you're after a portrait shot then you must click the optical trackpad to take the picture.
One advantage that the Axon offers is the presence of a dedicated
shutter button on the side, which is something that few Android smartphones feature these days.

A two - stage
shutter button was always inevitable with such a camera - centric phone, and the 808 doesn't disappoint, offering a silvery camera key
on its lower right
side.

Shooting with the Axon is made easier by the fact there's a physical
shutter release
button on the

side of the device though.
Signature elements of the design make a return, with the big silver power

When you hold the device in landscape mode,

shutter button at center, alongside is the video and mode icons, those
buttons are to start the video recording and change capture modes into HDR, Pro, Night, etc..
The company has provided its one - touch fingerprint sensor
on the rear which not only enhances the security
side of the smartphone by enabling up to 5 - fingerprint recognition but it also works as a
shutter button for taking selfies.
When put in landscape mode, you'll find the camera modes,
shutter and gallery view
buttons on the right
side.
But if you're new here, let me take you through, the camera app (hold the device in landscape position) has
shutter button for photos and recording

side, along with access to the gallery app.
The Lumia also has a dedicated camera
button on its
side, while the rest of the smartphones we tested let you use the volume
button to activate the
shutter (by default
on some, programmable

On the positive
side, in good light, the photos taken are sharp and executed within a split second of the

side, which is most likely a hardware key to bring up the camera app and doubles as the camera's physical
shutter.
Motion Photos senses motion in the viewfinder and takes a few seconds of video
on either
side of you pressing the
shutter button.
The placement of ports and
buttons is much the same as the Xperia Z2 as well, with power, volume and camera
shutter buttons along one
side, along with a covered microSD card slot, a headphone jack at the top and dual front - facing stereo speakers, while if you flip the phone over there's a camera and flash
on the top left corner, just like
on the Z2.
