Do this by having the right
side edge of the fabric and ruffle facing each other and sew the seam along the edge.
3) Fold over
side edges of fabric about 1/4 inch and iron, making sure it lines up to the pot holder.

Fold
fabric right
sides together (the short way), and stitch a seam 1/2» from the
edge of each
side.
Stitch securely in place through the two ribbons and one
side of the bag's
fabric (a straight zig zag would work here, or make a «square» with your stitches around the
edges of the ribbon).
Working with the
fabric folded and the right
sides together, mark both
sides of the
fabric with a dot 10 1/2» and 11 1/2» from the folded
edge on each
edge.
Pin the stuffed tree trunk to the
fabric side of the tree, centered on the bottom
edge.
If the object is rectangular, then draw up the corners
of the
fabric on either
side of the longest
edges of the item.
Another option is to double up the layers
of fabric by cutting out two identical pieces for the front and back, sewing down the open
edges whilst the pieces are pinned right
sides together, then flipping the bodice right way out, then adding the straps.
You can now stick the other
fabric piece on top (the back
sides of the
fabric pieces should be facing each other) and line up the
edges.
I applied Mod Podge on the inner
edges of the long
sides of the lids and tightly wrapped the
fabric flaps over.
My own way
of fixing pointy darts is to extend them slightly so that the last half inch or even a little more
of the stitching is on the very
edge of the
fabric, barely catching, and then to tie the ends off in a square knot and use a tailor's ham to press the dart on both
sides of the
fabric.
The lapels are unlined -LCB- the wrong
side of fabric shows -RCB- and so I chose to continue the gingham bias tape -LCB- self made -RCB- along the exposed front
edges.
Pin the
fabric pieces together along the
edges and sew all four
sides of the pillow cover.
After punching a staple into the center
of all four
sides (and double checking that all looked well on the top
of the cushion), I simply started stapling the
fabric tight across all
of the
edges.
For the ruffles I tore (for a frayed
edge) four — 4 ″ strips
of fabric, each one double the length
of the
side it would be attached to.
Then fold the waistband in half (with right
sides of the
fabric together) and sew the short raw
edges together to also form a loop.

Over time, the sun bleached away the color, leaving behind ghostly impressions, the brightest in the center where the glass
of the skylight shone the light
of the sun most directly, fading along the
sides where it cast in at angles, and dimmest along the
edges where the
fabric was concealed from the sun's radiation.
Marks and lines lurk at the lower
edges or
sides of the
fabric, or hop from one piece
of cloth to another, as if resting only temporarily in that place — an effect that brings to mind the quote
of Griffa's that gives this exhibition its title.
This is going to be the
edge that shows, so be sure to hem the top and bottom
of the
fabric (the two
sides that will be the opening
of the pocket).
Lay the decorative
fabric on top right
side down on top
of the shower curtain panel with
edges aligned.
The raw
edge is still showing on the
sides of the
fabric.
Once
fabric is adhered all around, turn excess
fabric over
edges onto other
side of cardboard making sure it is sticks.
Iron on the adhesive or apply
fabric glue to the wrong
side of fabric, then fold and press to create finished
edges.
7) Bring the long hemmed
edges of two adjacent
side strips together so they sit flush along their length and the top raw
edges of the strips match the raw
edge of the main
fabric underneath.
You are going to start off by taking 2 strips
of different colors and place right
sides together and stitch along the top (you can finish each
edge with a Serged or Zig Zag stitch as you go or when you have attached all the strips
of fabric together).

edges at the corners, pin the
side strips in place along the long
edges of the main
fabric.
From a long piece
of fabric, I made a cuff by folding right
sides together then stitched across the short
edge.
I lined it up a few inches from the
edge of the
fabric using my cutting ruler and pinned it in place on both
sides.
Step 3) With wrong
side facing, pin the
fabric trim along the width
of the curtain along the non-frayed
edge, frayed
edge facing towards the top
of the curtain.
Step 2) Fold the
fabric around the
side edges of frame so that it overlaps in the middle by around 5 cm, open out again and mark this third cutting line.
Step 5: Wrong
sides facing, stitch the first pair
of fabric pieces all round bar the central
edge taking a 2.5 cm seam.
Pull the threads from one
of the long
sides of the
fabric until there is a frayed
edge measuring about 1 cm in depth.
