Meanwhile, this is arguably Guardiola's toughest test to date, as although he'll have plenty of money to throw at City's problems, he hasn't been forced to pick up the pieces at a
side that have fallen
so far below expectations without
world - class collective talent at his disposal
in a league that ultimately one of two teams can win.
He inherited a fantastic
side at Barcelona, he had Messi at his disposal (who will probably go down as the greatest player ever, and guarantee's you a goal a game), Pep also had a lot of other

nice to see you crawl out of your hole just
in time to offer your 2 cents worth once again... unlike yourself I started following this team long before Wenger arrived on the scene and will continue to do
so long after he's gone...
in his earlier years I admired the cerebral elements he brought to the EPL, which at that point was more brutish than beautiful, and I respected the seemingly tireless efforts of Arsene, Dein & staff to uncover and develop talent without sacrificing the product on the field... likewise I appreciated that such a youthful manager wasn't afraid to bring strong personalities and / or
world - class players into the fold without being fearful of how said players would potentially undermine and / or dilute his authority... unfortunately this all changed about 10 years ago and culminated
in the removal of all our greatest players, both young and old, without any real replacements coming
in... from Henry to RVP to Fabergas and Nasri, it was easy to see that this club was no longer interested
in competing at the highest levels... instead of being honest, minus the ridiculous claims regarding the new stadium, Wenger chose to
side with management and
in doing
so became the «front man» for this corporation pretending to be a
world - class soccer club... without the «front man» this organization would have been exposed numerous years earlier,
so his presence was imperative if the facade was to continue... it's for this reason and more that I despise what this once great man and Kroenke has done to my beloved club... the gutless, shameful and manipulative way they have treated the fans, like myself, is largely indefensible and this is why I felt it necessary to start offering my opinion
in a public format... trust me, I resisted the temptation for many years but as long as the same shit continues to exist I will voice my opinions and if you don't like it maybe you should look for a different team to pretend to follow
24 year old winger Jarvis has had a good season and a half, his first
in the Premier League after four seasons with Gillingham and two with Wolves
in the Championship, and whilst the pint sized wide man would not be considered a spectacular signing there is no doubting his potential and a number of top
sides are said to be tracking the Middlesbrough born youngster who was of course part of Fabio Capello's original 30 man squad for the
World Cup
so is clearly someone who is rated highly.
That said, some will question how Zaha could even fit into this

For a striker that has over 100 caps and nearly 50 goals for one of the best international
sides in the
world, and a very good strike rate for Arsenal when he does get on the pitch, it must be hard to understand why Arsene Wenger
so rarely calls upon his talents
in front of goal, or brings him with no time to influence a game.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense
in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd,
so that we can attack the defensive lanes
in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess
in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through
so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself
in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required
in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right
side wing - back
so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling
in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks
so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points
in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis
in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself
in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him
in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone
so that our offensive players can remain aggressive
in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players
in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence
in Real or the space and protection he receives
in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived
in North London,
so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components...
in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them
in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion
in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin
in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation...
in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often
in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and
in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some
world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence...
so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place
in this
side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
However, his
side's insane comeback on Saturday showed that the former Blues chief certainly isn't past it, and still has the managerial prowess and tactical knowledge to be classed as one of the most able managers
in world football, and rightly
so.
Yea, where the hell was ozil, yea, busy with his average self, m back again with my ozil analysis When you play games after games with
side passes and obvious passes, no dribbles, no 1 - 2s, no shots on goal and you keep possession of the ball
in non-threatening areas and people say you are a
world class player, well, he's the poorest
world class player I've ever seen,
so to say.
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but to be considered the best you have to bring more than just assists to the table... for me, a top player has to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need to be a beast on both ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability to take their game to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early on, it set the bar too high,
so when people expected him to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed to get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened
in the meantime, but it's important to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant teams
in the EPL,
so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring
world - class striker and / or right -
side forward that would best fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off Ozil
in the midfield and was highly efficient when it came to getting him the ball
in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully
so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal... to me that goes directly to this club's inability to surround him with the necessary players to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type of player; as such, this simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed
in both Ozil and our management team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance to do something special, but they didn't have it
in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
of course no team wants to lose but I can guarantee you that the reaction by the Chelski fans after today's results are nowhere near what would have occurred if we shit the bed on opening day... the difference is they have tasted EPL success on more than one occasion recently, they have won the Champions League and they have done it with 3 different managers
in the last 12 years with a similar, if not smaller, wage bill than us...
in comparison, we have been experiencing our own personal Groundhog Day with nothing to show for it but a few silvery trinkets that would barely wet the appetite of a
world - class club...
so it's time for Wenger to stop gloating over our week one escape act and make some substantial moves before this window closes or I fear that things will take a horrible turn when the inevitable happens... living on a knife's edge is no way to go through a full season of football and regardless of what
side of the argument you fall on, you could feel high levels of toxicity
in the air and that was friggin week one... I would much rather someone tried their best and failed, than took half - measures and hoped for the best
This is the only league
in the
world where newly promoted
sides can spend # 40 Million a year on players, the BPL
in all honesty is at its most competitive, But as i mentioned before we can only attract / keep the high quality players if we show we are capable of winning silverware, We don't have a 700 million pound War chest to spend on players
so were not gonna buy the league.
there's nothing between Marquinhos varane and laporte
so to call him the best wouldn't be right but yes I'd love him here kids got bags of potential and has a
world class Ramos infront of him on the right
sided cb spot at arsenal mertasacker should be seen as an easier target for him and he would have two French internations either
side of him
in debuchy and kocielny.
The defence has had some horrible games this season, that goes without saying but with Monreal, Kos, Bellerin
in the team we already have a good foundation to build on, but Wenger
in his infinite wisdom will nit buy a
world class CB, choosing to rely on a Per who will not make the first 11 of any half decent
side,
so who is to blame for that oversight?
My main worry though is the fact that Alexis Sanchez left the field against Man United and should really have rested it for a week or
so, but instead he has had to travel to the other
side of the
world and has already played the full 90 minutes (and scored)
in Chile's 2 - 0 win over Brazil.
He had been competing mostly on the Japan Golf Tour and did not have status on this
side of the pond beyond being
in the top - 50
in the
world,
so this is truly a life - and career - altering win for the young Japanese.
In an ideal
world we have two DM with forward going abilities (which are limited for Coquelin)
so we can play real wingers on both
sides of the pitch and don't have to deploy a central midfield player like Ramsey who neither has the natural instincts of a winger nor the the burst of speed.
So you see Pires, this may surprise you but Arsenal had a life before the Emirates and let me tell you, were quite a big club, according to some historians during the» 30's the biggest and best club
side in the whole of
world football.
Shkodran Mustafi was a practically unknown defender for Sampdoria when he was inexpicably picked by Joachim Low to play his first game for the German senior national
side in May 2014,
so it was even more shocking when he was picked for the provisional
World Cup squad just a couple of months later.
I think its time to do something about this, over the 2 legs, ireland were clearly the better
side, that notwithstanding this particular french team is the worst i've seen
in decades, and they have no bussines going to the
world cup.It is time for replays to be reviewed
in some cases and goaline technology to be applied
in other cases, i think we human being have come of age to realise that we humans are not perfect, no matter how hard we try,
so for sepp blatter to keep resisting replays and goal line technology is quite baffling to me, i can't really understand why 3 socalled officials could make a decision, a decision
in which the whole
world saw to be a foul, and its allowed to stand, and a nation is left, heartbroken, cheated and bitter, i am an african, but as a fan of football, i felt terrible seeing this, and i beg the question, if someone other than the team is not benefiting from this, why can't the officials be allowed to take a look at the replays
in order to officiate the game better?
I couldn't settle back
in England as I knew there was
so much going on at LFC
World in Jakarta
so back I went to play «The Liverpool Way» at the Soccer Schools that our LFC Coaches were running there and I also took part
in a 5 -
side tournament, it's been none stop for this Liver Bird!
