of masses into «taking a
side» that they will adopt for the rest
of their
life.
After years
of apartment
living, I yearned for my own space and wanted to distance myself
from that nosy neighbor with an ear pressed to his
side of my bedroom wall.
The human desire to be perfect means we push God to the
side, opting to tap into our own limited power resources rather than drawing
from the fountain
of life.
the problem with some Christian is they don't know god... even just by acknowledging God they'd be a step in the right direction... but then Jesus said many will come and say i saved
life on your name and God will respond «I do no know you» your name is not in the book
of life those who are and have never separated
from the
side of god and god's wisdom...
How sad to claim to be a chaplain and not be able to tell a dying patient anything about the specifics on the other
side of the veil; what will happen to a person who has died, what they will be doing, what is the exact nature
of God and those who depart
from this
life.
I

ok i've decided — after soul searching and observing my and other's reactions to these religious blog news on CNN learning more about religion
from this alone and about the mideast than
from anywhere else in my USA educated
life i need to be more tolerant
of others having religious based governments THAT is what is confusing me — that religion are governments are not seperated that is hard for much
of USA population to understand perhaps it is for me i think you would have to actually
live in a society like the mideast to truly understand it i mean — actually be part
of the society the religious part is truly offputting — since most in USA seperate church and state like — church is for faith and imagination and celebration and family and community involvement and state is for protection and education and health and infrastructure, etc., for all it is hard to be serious about religion — when the serious
side of society is state it is hard to see religion being the serious
side of enforcement — and the state enforcing the faith based
side of society egad — doesn't god get lost in all that?

life (in contrast with a scientific aloofness
from life), or this ethical
side of Christianity, is essentially the edifying, and the form in which it is presented, however strict it may be, is altogether different, qualitatively different,
from that sort
of learning which is «indifferent,» the lofty heroism
of which is
from a Christian point
of view so far
from being heroism that
from a Christian point
of view it is an inhuman sort
of curiosity.
Looking at this
side of the ambiguity, we see a church in which many first - world Christians
of our day could feel comfortable and undisturbed: a church that
lives without question or resistance in a state founded on violence and made prosperous by the exploitation
of less fortunate nations; a church that accepts various perquisites
from that state as its due; a church where changing jobs for the sake
of peace and justice is seldom considered; a church that constantly speaks in the language
of war; a church given to eloquent invective in its internal disputes and against outside opponents; a church quite sure that God will punish the wicked.

Can we lose that salvation i believe so if we totally turn away
from him by rejecting the conviction
of the holy spirit in our lives.I say that because as a new christian i accepted Christ into my
life and the holy spirit was convicting me to surrender my heart to him as Lord and i was resisting him i would not surrender to him fully and so he gave me a choice to either accept him or reject him.I believe he gives everyone the chance to make that commitment as Lord

life.When we make that deeper commitment and follow him he will continue to perfect us through his holy spirit so that we conform to his image.By the way i knew that if i rejected him at that point that was it he would never bother me again i would have been eternally lost the thought was terrifying at the time.There was definitely a spiritual battle being fought over me i was very aware i needed to decide which
