side of the

There is only the one small
kitchen window on the back
side of the house to let light into our main living areas,
so adding the French door at the back completely changes the space.

I created a stunned silence yesterday morning when I announced that the best place for character - adding beadboard in the
kitchen that we've been talking about doing is not
so much on the end
of an island or cabinet, but ON THE WALL up from the peninsula between the two doorways, AND to build the molding up to the ceiling on top
of each door frame on either
side of the beadboard.
The girls got the butter dish for me last year for Christmas, one week I spent $ 10 and bought four

When you enter the house it's the first thing you see on the other
side of the
kitchen,
so we wanted it to look extra «come hither».
And also before I knew my original flooring was engineered rather than solid hardwood,
so to replace the family room
side and fix the issues in the
kitchen it made more sense to just use the same flooring as in the living and dining room rather than a patchwork
of repairs and floors that couldn't fit together and weren't the same.
There was a little - used patio to the
side of the
kitchen,
so they built a snug in its place with an extra bedroom on top.
A few folks asked if they could see the other
side of Dale & Rita's
kitchen the other day, and they were

This
side of the room (from the opening into the
kitchen) is deeper than the other
side,
so the console was added to «bump» the sofa forward,
so that everything centers on the fireplace / focal point.
Just
so you know what the other
side of the
kitchen looks like, this is the «eat in» area, where I've put the kids» table and chairs.

kitchen is L - shaped
so the range is on the left
side of the room.

so it would have the appearance
of a piece

so we could have the natural light and added a window seat with storage below.

kitchen these walls will be covered in tile,
so it wasn't necessary to re-mud the drywall after it was replaced.

so many inspiring ideas in this transitional
kitchen, from the zinc hood to the «X» design on both
sides of the island.
We had a long section
of open space on the
side of the
kitchen,
so we decided to create a desk space.
To balance the look
of the
kitchen,
so it wasn't
so heavy visually on one
side, and to help tie in the rest
of the space, we added open shelves on the opposite wall.
The
side chairs at my table are covered with a gray / brown / flax heather fabric and the
kitchen island cabinets on the other
side of the
kitchen are gray,
so I decided that having a gray dresser, even if it was distressed, would be too much.
It can make the
kitchen feel quite confined
so avoid having wall units on all three
sides and position the sink, cooker and fridge on three
sides of the U for a balanced working triangle.
