The volume button sits on the
right side of the phone right near the power button and exists as a rocker rather than two separate buttons.
This image, however, fits with a recent leak we've seen, so it's possible we know the design of the
front side of this phone as well.
The power button on the right
hand side of the phone is easy to reach with your thumb, while the volume rocker sits just above it and again is easy to tap.
Two - stage camera shutter / convenience key on the lower right
side of the phone with volume up / down buttons towards the top of the right side.
The right
side of the phone houses a power button that's situated just above the center point, while the volume rocker rests above that.
The right side and the bottom parts don't feature any buttons or ports, which means the 3.5 mm audio jack has been placed on the
top side of the phone.
In other areas, it's a wash: battery capacities are comparable, and both handsets have excellent fingerprint scanners, though on
opposite sides of the phone.
Yet despite its thickness, the front and
sides of the phone feel relatively high end, especially with the metal frame and rounded corners.
The volume buttons align with the top and bottom of the power button even though they aren't on the
same side of the phone.
Because the phone is so wide, it's hard (or impossible, depending on hand size) to reach the
far side of the phone with one thumb.
By default, long pressing this button on the left
side of the phone launches the camera app, and you can use the volume rocker as a nice tactile shutter button.
Having such a sharply curved edge on just one
side of the phone introduces some interesting usability questions, particularly for people who hold the phone in their left hand.
The body is made of metal, and the glass on the front has a 2.5 D curved effect, blending in perfectly with the
rounded sides of the phone.
A fingerprint scanner is also located on the
back side of this phone, and the device is made out of metal and glass.
Just press the power button the right side and the volume up or down button on the
left side of the phone at the same time.
The
rear side of the phone is a little too glossy because of the glass, and it attracts plenty of fingerprints, but that's a problem with most flagship smartphones these days.
Having all buttons on the
same side of the phone is generally a better design, as it gives the phone a place to rest when watching videos without pressing buttons on accident.
Both phones were dropped from shoulder height but were positioned in a way that the concrete would smash against
different sides of the phones: the back, side, and screen.
A cool feature is you can color code your favorite contacts, and that color will appear
on side of your phone when they call you.
The back
side of the phone also looks quite interesting, unlike anything we've seen thus far, this handset actually reminds us of some rugged smartphones that were introduced in China lately.
There is a SIM card tray which pops out from the left
side of the phone while the right side carries the volume rocker and the power button.
Back in the hardware section we talked about the new priority mode slider included on the left
side of the phone for easy toggling.
The back we think is the slightly weaker
side of the phone in design terms — it houses the 13.0 - megapixel shooter (in a rather larger circle), flanked by an LED flash on the top left corner, and on the same side near the base is a speaker grille.
