Yet despite its thickness, the front and
sides of the phone feel relatively high end, especially with the metal frame and rounded corners.
I didn't have any issues with my fingerprints registering and
the side of the phone feels like the perfect positioning for the sensor.

Even with large hands, we weren't able to curl our fingers and grip the
phone as tightly as we wished while selecting items on the far left
side of the screen, which made it
feel a little precarious.
The power button and volume rocker on the right
side of the E4 Plus
feel surprisingly clicky, and the front - facing fingerprint scanner works just as fast as my Google Pixel running Android O. Near the top
of the
phone is the earpiece for
phone calls, but this also doubles as a front - facing speaker that sounds way better than expected.

feeling that the handset is slightly longer than necessary.
The extra metal protection along the
sides of the
phone make it
feel very durable, and the Nokia 6 truly does
feel like a high - end
phone, both in terms
of hardware and software.
Thanks to the slim bezels at the top and bottom
of the
phone and the screen edges that curve around the
sides of the
phone, the
phone feels nicely compact in the hand.
The back curves outward, and although the corners are a bit on the sharp
side, the overall
feel of the
phone is very solid.
When I first pulled the Essential
Phone from the retail package, I was immediately impressed by the rock solid
feel of the titanium
sides, ceramic back, and Gorilla Glass 5 front panel.
The
sides of the device also show impressive construction, and the antenna bands are almost unnoticeable as they wrap around the device acting as a border between the glass and the top and bottom
of the
phone, and can not be
felt on the
sides of the
phone either.
The flip
phone sports a glass back with curves on the
side that gives the
feeling of the S6 edge.
Along the right
side of this
phone you have power, volume, and a pair
of shutter buttons all made to
feel similar to the aluminum band that wraps around the
phone.
The keys have much more
of a premium
feel to them than earlier Samsung
phones, with reflective chamfers on their
sides and a firmer click than those
of the Galaxy S3.

It's a natural -
feeling gesture — essentially, all you need to do is squeeze both
sides of your
phone with your thumb and forefinger.
But the tradeoff is that the
sides of the
phone are thinner and
feel sharper.
That aluminum
feels quite nice, but it's also a little slippery, especially when you factor in the size
of the
phone and its rounded
sides.
The smooth, curved metal
sides feature the same ceramic look and
feel of the back, giving off an air
of elegance in both look and
feel, but ultimately making it an ultra slippery
phone.
The trade - off is that the edges
of the
phone have a slightly more plasticky
feel than the back panel — ASUS insists it's all metal, for what it's worth — but on the flip
side you don't have to deal with any unsightly plastic bands top or bottom.
The back
of the
phone now has gently curved
sides that aren't as pronounced as those on the Redmi Note 3, and the display offers 2.5 D curved glass, making for better in - hand
feel.
Nokia Lumia Icon is made
of high - quality matte polycarbonate in black or white with an elegant aluminum strip around the
sides, so the
phone looks and
feels quite premium in our opinion.
On the other
side of the
phone is the weird dock connector, which looks and
feels terrible.
It's also very thin and light, keeping the overall form and
feel of your Note 8 intact, yet still offers some protection to the back and
sides of your
phone, even packing in cushioned corners to better defend against drops.
We saw a handset pop up now and then during Microsoft's keynote address, but
phone side of things
felt a bit like an afterthought, a distraction from the main action.
It's all plastic though, including the silver rim at the
sides of the
phone, so you won't actually be getting a premium
feel.
The metal button sits flush with the
side of the
phone, and has a nice
feel to it — it must be a pain for left - handed users though.
These
sides meet flatly with the display on top and
feel more like a disjointed unibody design rather than the seamless fused metal and glass bodies
of the Samsung Galaxy
phones, while they taper into the back with a slight curve along the metal frame.
The top and bottom edges can
feel a little sharp as there are front - facing speakers that jut out, and the power button can be a little hard to reach as it sits all the way on the top left
side of the
phone.
It makes the
phone feel far more compact, though, making it easy to access the other
side of the screen in one - handed use.
The Type - C port at the bottom
of the
phone has a speaker and microphone port either
side of it, and the overall fit and finish
feels good and solid.
The OnePlus X potentially bests the Honor 5X with a solid piece
of glass on both
sides of the
phone and a wonderfully - crafted metal frame that
feels much nicer than the Honor's, though the flat back makes it a bit tougher to hold and lets it slide around when placed on flat surfaces.
Both front and back
sides of the
phone are covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, which is how Samsung managed to give the Galaxy S6 a more stylish
feel.
Since I gave up my iPhone 4s, I've been missing that
feel you get from having both
sides of the
phone coated in glass.
On the back it
feels sharp: there's no organic curve into the rear
of the
phone or to transition from
side to back, so it's uncomfortable against your fingers and gathers dirt and debris.
