This week, the

black bear near a Pee Wee baseball field in Canton resulted again in school officials cancelling outdoor activities.

of boys, who reads the number pi as a story and collects clippings about the
sightings of a great
black bear in the nearby mountains.

black bears are omnivorous, known to eat berries, nuts and honey, their habit
of preying on fish in the shallow water provides an excellent opportunity for
sightings, away from the dense camouflage
of the forest.
