In a study published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers compared sea level and storm surge heights from 850 to 1800,
before significant human influences on the climate, to the period from 1970 to 2005.
«The three papers come to perhaps different numbers, but we're all within uncertainty ranges, well within them, and lends confidence to the statement that there was
a significant human influence on the amount of precipitation that was produced by Hurricane Harvey,» he said.
«Fifty - three authors and five reviewers are all that can be said to explicitly support the claim of
a significant human influence on climate.
