We don't get any closer to science by denying the
significant possibility that we are causing significantly adverse changes in climate
than we do by the ridiculous assertion that we understand the chaotic complexity of climate well enough to say with
certainty how many parts per millions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will lead to how many degrees of global warming.
We know with absolute
certainty that a doubling of CO2 can produce no more
than half a degree C (actually the number is a lot closer to 0.3 °C) because the 14.77 micron band of the Earth's radiation is already so close to saturation that there is not enough energy left in this band to have any further
significant effect regardless of how much the CO2 concentration increases.
As discussed previously, there is little danger of
significant increases in temperatures, while it is almost a
certainty that Earth is headed for a new ice age since interglacial periods rarely last much more
than the current one has.
Unless there is a re-engagement with Indigenous Australians on the basis of mutual respect and equality, with clear processes and
certainty of structures for Indigenous representation and advocacy, it remains uncertain whether the new arrangements can produce tangible,
