It's difficult
to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied
to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately
to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl
to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can
make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield
to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence
to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he
ended up on a squad that has a striker who plays with his back
to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one
to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him, which
simply highlighted his lacking defensive qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes
to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is
simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary
to get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly
to watch and even more difficult
to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of
making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer
Of course it would be silly
to suggest that winning any game, cup or otherwise, isn't good for the club, but let's remember just how problematic FA Cup success has been for this club... I'm certainly not going
to suggest I didn't enjoy seeing Arsenal win, I'm a fan of this club first and foremost, but how bad are things when you find yourself secretly wishing that your own team lost so that just maybe real change would finally come... I resent this team for even
making me feel such thoughts and it's going
to take a lot of effort on their part
to earn my trust again... this club has treated the fans so poorly that it has created an incredibly fragile and toxic environment, so much so that a «what have you done for me lately» mentality has emerged... fans rise and fall depending on the results of each game because we don't have faith in those in charge
to make the necessary changes
to personnel and tactics... each time we win many fans attack any dissenting voices and
make unrealistic claims about the players, the manager and the potential for unprecedented success... every time we lose the boo - birds run rampant, calling for heads
to roll and predicting the worst... regardless of what side you fall on, it's not your fault, both sides are
simply overcompensating for the horrible state of affairs that have been percolating for several years... it's hard
to take the long view when those in charge have lied incessantly and refuse
to take any responsibilities for their own actions... in the
end, we are trapped by the same catch - 22 that ManU faced upon Fergie's exit... less fearful of maintaining the status quo than facing the unknown, which was validated, wrongly or rightly, by witnessing the difficulties they have faced during this transitory period...
to be honest, the thing that scares me most is that this team has never prepared whatsoever for this eventuality, which considering our frugal nature and the way we have shunned many of our most revered former players is more than a little disconcerting

If we
simply accept that Chelsea are definitely going
to end up Champions then we should be cheering them on and
make sure we stay ahead of Tottenham, but if we are still harbouring hopes of catching Conte's team, then we should be cheering on the Spuds!
Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's
end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due
to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough
to overcome such difficulties: not
to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming
to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure
to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled
to take their sideways soccer
to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always
make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've
made along the way and
simply reply... f *** off
at the
end he

simply didn't know what

Let's face it goalkeepers tend
to march
to the beat of a different drum and Szczesny certainly fell into that category, but most of his antics were relatively harmless and
simply reflected a certain level of immaturity that isn't uncommon for someone thrust into the limelight at such a young age... lord knows we've seen that happen with numerous players throughout the years and very few were ever banished for such behaviour... the only on - field action that drove me crazy was his inability
to take a deep breath and not try
to rush the play with an ill - timed throw at certain points in the game when common sense suggested holding the ball and slowing things down... the fact that he continued
to do this probably had a lot
to do with the glaring lack of coaching time spent with the goalkeepers... ultimately he
made the fateful decision
to take his frustrations out into the public sphere and paid dearly for it... in the
end, his services were wanted by several of the best Italian squads, which is significant considering the historical importance placed on the defensive side of the ball in Serie A... all I know is that if someone asked me
to pick the most athletically gifted goalkeeper we have had in our squad since the arrival of Wenger, without hesitation, he would be my pick and for that reason his departure is more than a little disappointing... what else is new though
In other news, our team seems
to be rounding nicely into form, with a productive off - season and several new additions already settling in, there seems
to be a renewed sense of confidence in the air... our well - oiled machine has conducted business again early this year, so we can just sit back, kick our feet up and watch all those other suckers scramble
to make panic moves in the 11th hour... of course, we need
to tie up a few loose
ends but our team of savvy negotiators, under the tutelage of our faithful leader, will perform their usual magic with ample time
to spare... I have
to laugh when I look around the soccer world and see all those teams look upon us with envy and scorn as they struggle
to mimic our seemingly infallible business model... thank goodness the powers that be had the foresight and fortitude
to resist the temptations of the modern football era... instead of listening
to all the experts and
simply taking the easy way out by
making the necessary improvements on the field and in the front office, we chose the path never traveled... we are truly pioneers in our field... sometimes you just have
to have faith in the people that have always conducted themselves in a respectful and honest fashion... most fans aren't so fortunate, they will never know what it's like
to follow a team that treats everyone in and around the club as if they were an extended member of the family... all for one I say... so when you wake up this morning, please try not
to gloat when you see rival fans pacing back and forth waiting for their respective teams
to pull the usual panic buys, just say nothing and be thankful that it isn't you... like I've always said, this is why you stay the course... this is when the real benefits of having someone in charge for over 2 decades really pays off... have a great day fellow Gunners
Although I've found it very cathartic
to speak, vent and
end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need
to act carefully and intelligently right now or we're going
to get played by this club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion of the season ticket holders, don't want
to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going
to get much worse before they get better... why would they... many have spent a considerable sum buying some of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want
to have a front row seat
to see something special and
to be seen doing so, which
simply provides ample justification for the expense and the time invested...
to many of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter lack of balls
makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed
to embolden those who already felt pretty highly of themselves... many might not even of really liked football that much before his arrival and rarely games they weren't attending... as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill
to swallow... they would have
to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever
made them feel this way, but of course it will be too late by then... so when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering of anarchy, it scares the shit out of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act of treason... we aren't the enemy... we
simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments have gotten more vile in recent years is out of utter frustration... in order for any real change
to occur at this club we need
to bring as many supporters as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's time
to focus on the head instead of the heart for now
With the
end near, I abandon all ambition and
simply want
to make it a few days without my fast being broken.
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but
to be considered the best you have
to bring more than just assists
to the table... for me, a top player has
to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need
to be a beast on both
ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability
to take their game
to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early on, it set the bar too high, so when people expected him
to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed
to get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important
to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant teams in the EPL, so that clearly
made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring world - class striker and / or right - side forward that would best fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances
to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient when it came
to getting him the ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned
to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal...
to me that goes directly
to this club's inability
to surround him with the necessary players
to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type of player; as such, this
simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both Ozil and our management team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance
to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only
made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste

I mean, yeah, a dead baby would be like 1000x more offensive and emotionally difficult for viewers, but the metaphor holds better, and if you want

ending mastitis or
simply not enjoying how we feed our babies, then a picture of a dead baby will be much more effective.

For more than 30 years, New York City charged a reasonable, minuscule income tax — 0.45 % — on approximately 800,000 suburban workers who
