I'll have liked if stages had alternate spawn points for some of the stronger
enemies since I remember being disappointed the Cranebirds didn't appear
after being beaten, nor felt as intimidating as in the first game.
Then it was time for Far Cry 4, which was a bit trickier
since I attempted to come up with a challenging scenario, eventually settling on just charging into an
enemy base
after tossing in some bait for good measure.
Since figuring out how to defeat
enemies is the focus of the game, there is not much value in continuing to play
after you already know everything.
Survival Mode isn't much better
since it trades the limited art and plot for grinding against wave
after wave of easy
enemy AI's with no difficulty slider to adjust only for difficulty to spike each ten matches.
If I wasn't a Gundam fan, Gundam Reborn would have gotten boring fast
since the main gameplay is very shallow - you're just constantly fighting through wave
after wave of the same type of
enemy and it can get old pretty quickly.
Perhaps the best example of
enemy stupidity is how I found it was possible to shoot an
enemy, and his only reaction was to look rather shocked, but
since the gunfire was masked he simply carried on patrolling
after a brief bit of searching.
In many ways, what I played could be considered a horde mode
since we had to survive wave
after wave of
enemies.
They should have spread out the different
enemies a little better,
since after level 3 or 4 you've pretty much seen them all.
That highly invariable design plus a glaring lack of invincibility frames
after being hit makes hard hitting
enemies as threatening as the smallest bunch of creeps,
since you are unable to tank for more than one second before
enemies start pushing you around, the combined might of their meager damage killing you before you've had a chance to fire a bullet.
Their grenades are one of the most notable improvements
since the last game; the ability to throw a grenade and not have to wait several more seconds before it explodes
after already hitting the ground increases your accuracy, and makes them a viable option over just a «distraction» for the
enemies.
They come in a variety of different shapes and size and
since the game tends to throw a lot of them at the same time, the scenery can get chaotic as the players team up to kill these monsters and survive through the waves
after waves of
enemies.
It is a tougher
enemy to beat than the Shellcreeper,
since you need to hit it 2 times from underneath to flip it over (
after you hit it the first time, it will become angry and start going faster, but when you hit it the second time, you will manage to flip it over).
Since you'll move very slowly with it drawn, it's best used to dish out big damage by drawing into an attack when you have a big opening, like
after an
enemy attack.
