Some simple DIY plumbing solutions, a
skirt for a
sink, the just - right fitting and affordably - thrifted vintage mirror (six months
of walking around thrift shops with a tape measure finally paid off), one new light fixture (Acworth from Barnlight Electric), and a simple little modge - podged towel hook that allows for a «big people» hand towel in addition to the one for little hands below (and, oh - so - conveniently covers up another hole in the wall).
I recently purchased some cotton twill to make two Sewaholic Hollyburn
skirts, and since it's now
sinking in that I'm more
of a pear than I was before losing a bit
of weight, that should work out nicely for me, in theory (since Tasia's line is geared towards pear shapes).

After hemming the sides and bottom
of the
skirt, I used this Home Decor Velcro that I got at Walmart to attach the
skirt to the
sink.
I measured the distance around the
sink that I needed to cover with the
skirt, and then doubled that measurement to get the amount
of fabric I needed to make the
skirt.
I simply attached the self - adhesive «hook» side
of the velcro to the
sink... Then I sewed the soft side
of the velcro to my
skirt ruffle.

My mom had made an adorable
skirt for my kitchen
sink and I grew fond
of the antique smaller scaled furniture and loved the French doors.
I clipped out that same picture
of the old
sink with the black and white tiole
skirt, the chippy painted record cabinet next to it.
