This was good for me to read as we've been using disposables at night... I was getting really tired of the rashes from
sitting in wet diapers all night.
This is because your child is more likely to develop skin problems during the night, especially when
they sit in a wet diaper for too long.
The great thing about cloth diapers is you can tell when the diaper is wet with certainty and parents tend to change their baby more often this way instead of letting their baby
sit in a wet diaper for a period of time.
The extra absorption means they don't need to worry that baby is
sitting in a wet diaper too long.
When he sleeps so long (which really only started within the past two / three weeks),
he sits in a wet diaper all night and the urine up against his skin is causing both yeast infections and rashes.
And like any small child, she doesn't like
sitting in a wet diaper.
But do you really want your precious baby
sitting in a wet diaper for 12 hours?

This is probably the most important thing you will want to do because if cloth
diapers sit in a cloth
diaper pail or
wet bag for more than 3 days, they will start to grow bacteria and develop that dreaded ammonia smell.

While others feel more comfortable about cloth
diapers that are rinsed before soaking them
in a
wet pail, others have already adopted the dry method that has been proven to be equally as effective
in keeping the soiled
diapers from smelling as it

diapers full - time for her first year, and while at home for her second year, and never cared about being
in a
wet / dirty
diaper, she was quite happy to
sit in her own mess until I checked her (which of course made me somewhat compulsive).
She still pees
in the
diaper on occasion and we do have lots of
wet accidents when I let her run around without it... everytime I
sit her down she goes but can also go 15 min later on the rug... so... part time EC totally works but can a child be
diaper free completely by such young age?

The difference between cloth and disposables is that
in cloth, your baby will feel when they are
wet whereas the chemicals
in disposable
diapers mask the feeling of being
wet and your baby will not know they are
sitting in pee or poo.
Diapers sit in 1) an open bin
in the bathroom or 2) a closed
wet bag until laundry day.
Although this baby
wets her
diapers literally every 15mins - 30 mins and absolutely refuses to
sit in it waiting for the next tinkle.
