Most people think that it's just a shorter version, but it's actually smaller overall and the waist sits up a bit higher so I usually only reserve petite sizing for petite maxi dresses and skirts, rather than the rest of my garments.

Rented the Pink version of this dress for a wedding and the Apricot was my backup size.
