These include images of the space, past installations and

Trimble Sketchup... as Modernism is quite «blocky» it enables the students to then easily design a Modernism Style Villa.
Some of the 3D models presented have been downloaded from Google

We put the maquette onto a little Lazy Susan turntable and shot a bunch of photos all around it and uploaded it into Autodesk 123D Catch, which spit out a rough wireframe that we could import

Speaking of GI, Sarah McCrory's inaugural edition felt fresh: a minor coup with a wittily installed Jordan Wolfson retrospective of sorts, a funny - heartbreaking performance by Sue Tomkins, collages by the late — and, in the UK, little know — Brazilian artist Hudinilson Jr,
cavorting SketchUp'd tableaux by the young New Yorker Avery Singer, and a lot more besides.
For example, Stephani Syjuco's «Dazzle Camouflage Propositions», downloaded from
Goggle SketchUp, uses Algerian and Vietnamese patterns to a spinning 3 - D image of Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye to comment on France's colonial past.
Jake from Tiny Nest is a great communicator and
skilled SketchUp practitioner, and his tutorial teaches you to use the program and model just like he does.
Of course, the inevitable curve ball hurled at architects is if (read: when) people themselves design and build their «dream houses» using programs like Google's free 3D
modeler SketchUp in conjunction with intrepid 3D - printing contractors, thus ensuring lively design review hearings for some time to come.
According to Tiny House Talk, the Atlas does not come cheap at a base price of $ 75,000,
though Sketchup models are available for free.
Of course, once something is free the user base gets huge, and a community develops that contributes drawings (components in
Sketchup lingo) to a free and open 3D Warehouse.
We have mentioned our fondness for
Sketchup before; the easy to use software was bought by Google and is now available free for download here.
So a couple months ago on our way back from Chicago, I pulled
open Sketchup and started drawing up the digital plans for what I had in mind.
