Hardcore fans might find themselves a little annoyed by this pruning, and it does seem rather strange that they've removed the likes of strength, but the awesome new
skill tree system more than makes up for it.

New characters are constantly being added to the roster — each of which has their own
skill tree to develop, weapons to assign, levels to grow, and
more; characters can perform better if their bonds grow with other allies (something that can be achieved by utilising the pairing up
system during battles); there are special attacks that need to be charged in order to be used; and so much
more that we simply don't have the room to talk about.
The actual combos and upgraded
system works considerably better, with
skill trees for both his holy and un-holy abilities which can be upgraded unlocking
more and
more devastating powers.
There are so many
more things I could talk about, like the gem crafting
system,
skill tree links, the excellent voice work, the major side quest to rebuild a city and how poorly it was implemented, the hilariously cumbersome inventory
system and on and on.
Due to the six million dollars raised, the stretch goals fans can expect to see implemented include subtitles for various languages, five extra mini-games, a
skill tree system and
more.

It's efforts to introduce
more RPG - like elements such as a loot
system and a
skill tree are somewhat hit and miss when taken overall, but on the whole, they contribute nicely the combined experience well enough that whatever flaws they possess can be overlooked.
From the intuitive crafting
system to the three - pronged
skill tree to the endlessly satisfying combat against creatures that are always bigger and stronger than Aloy, it's a fantasy world that makes
more sense than any grounded, realistic open world I've ever inhabited in a video game.
