A woman who
worked with me at the restaurant I
worked at talked to me often
because she saw me as a fellow spirit - filled believer and she felt somewhat like an outcast
because she always wore
skirts below her knees, her hair in a bun, and no makeup.
It ended up
working because I ordered this
skirt at the same time and it tucked inside the
skirt like they were made for each other!
This is the part I'm most proud of,
because instead of using the pattern's gathered
skirt pieces, I decided to draft my own circle
skirt and it actually
worked.
by that i mean ab
work because i spent the entire time laughing at myself... hysterically (and that is why there is only one photo LOL), and 3) wear it tucked in with a
skirt.
I've had trouble recently
because my pencil
skirts for
work are a little big in the waist and it's difficult to find a way to wear them.
Also, since I have so many tulle
skirts, including this gorgeous one from the Windsor Store, I'm
working on a post called «Where to buy tulle
skirts,»
because I pretty much know of every online realtor that carries them.
The past couple of years, I have avoided wearing pencil
skirts because I could not find one that looked chic while also being comfortable to wear for my typical 10 - 12 hour
work days.
I don't usually like high - low hemlines, but this
skirt works for me
because it's not flouncy.
I love my goddess
skirt, not least
because I found it at one of my favorite NYC thrift shops, Housing
Works.
They also
work because the
skirt is a smaller print while the sweater is a larger print.
I have done this by layering a light dress under a pencil
skirt but I think it
works best with A-line
skirts because if the fabric bunches up under the
skirt, it is less noticeable.
This look was fun to piece together
because a sparkle
skirt and graphic top
work so well together.
It very simple that this type of tops will definitely look odd if a girl wear this type of top with a
skirt at school, college and even during her office or
work place
because it will really look very unprofessional and inappropriate.
I don't think id actually wear this too
work because is very short (probably be fine with a high wasted
skirt).
My daughter says it looks like a «
work skirt», possibly
because I used pinstripe.

I wish they had more colors and patterns

skirt is perfect for both

This classic pairing
works well
because the colors in the top (black & white) are also in the
skirt.
Ooh: this washable sheath dress reminds me of the much (much) more expensive Ted Baker twofer dresses that have been so popular — but I kind of like this one better
because it's washable, sleeveless, and the dark colors of the patterned
skirt and solid top are perfect for
working moms who may want to hide a multitude of stains.
The swirly
skirt worked perfectly for the occasion
because it packs well and easily stayed in my suitcase all week without getting wrinkled.
I'm not sure if it's the fact that it's a
work skirt and everyone else on my team is in jeans or
because of the print but something about it puts me in a way more productive mindset.
But avoid wearing pointy toe pumps
because they do not
work well with the long flattering maxi
skirts.
The best part is that everything is actually really functional for winter nights out — even the tulle
skirt works for a super dressy occasion
because it covers up so much of your body and keeps the cold out.
In retrospect, I'm glad I made a lot of non-maternity items
work for me during my pregnancy (knit
skirts, long cardigans, and larger shift dresses)
because it gave me some wardrobe flexibility when I returned to
work.
I was very excited to try on the Dual Foundation Pencil ($ 88)
because it reminds me of the Embroidered Lace Pencil
Skirt ($ 148), which has come out in three versions and hasn't
worked on me once.
I like the
skirt because I can wear this to
work and just change out my sneakers for flats!
I love them
because they're
work appropriate tucked into a pencil
skirt and paired with killer pumps, or even styled super casually with denim shorts for summer (with the sleeves rolled up!).
Not only were my jeans in there, but a bunch of other tops and
skirts that I had kind of assumed I'd donated in a pregnancy - fueled purge and then just forgotten about
because that's how pregnancy

because as a larger framed woman, I find pantsuits a bit masculine.
That frustrates me
because if a

work that way in person I find that a huge disappointment, being the big -
skirted addict that I am.

skirts make me feel a little less like I'm in traditional

When I came across this mustard cardigan and olive cotton body con
skirt from the fall, while searching for something comfortable that I could still fit into, I knew I wanted to make it
work for the current season
because the outfit offers a lot of stretch and awesome movement for my large - self.
Style Tip: For those uncomfortable wearing this
skirt to
work because of its shorter length, opt for a longer striped
skirt that reaches just above or below the knee.
My lightweight pleated
skirt still
works for fall
because of the colors, and of the fact it is still warm here.
Inspiration includes: an all - black look (
because it always
works) consisting of either a turtleneck tucked into a pencil
skirt or some sort of sexy but not too sexy black dress, a slinky silk gown and my favorite leather jacket, cream jumpsuit and some oxblood - shaded lipstick, or a pair of rhinestone chandelier earrings worn with my crispiest white tee and high - rise dark denim
Because I've been struggling with a way to wear this top and pairing it with this
skirt just
worked so well!
Skirts can be tricky to wear in cooler weather if they're not the right material,
because only certain fabrics really
work with tights or boots.
I think it's mainly
because of the problem with cold temperatures and
working the midi
skirt which makes the boots perfect to add.
I love chambray
because it feels like it
works in any season, and the sheer nature of the stripes on the
skirt make it a spring - y piece that can be worn all summer long.
All I can say is that she ruined this look on so many levels: the belt does not
work with the emblem badge - just too much going on and does not
work with the traditional feel - maybe had she taken the emblem off (which you can do)- the shoes are very wrong (I know
because I tried them with the
skirt and everyone said NO!!!)
I have to wear a suit to
work, but the traditional suit with pencil
skirt looks terrible in me
because of my hips.
Whether you choose a printed pencil
skirt or printed blouse, the choice is up to you
because both
work just the same!
The reason this
works together is
because there is a contrast with the vertical stripe of the
skirt and the horizontal in the tee.
I'm glad I did, even though it elevated this outfit to a more colourful level than I would have otherwise chosen,
because it
worked so well with the
skirt.
Because I was
working on an upcoming piece showing a printed
skirt multiple ways, I tried pairing this dress...
Sadly, I can't even wear
skirts to
work because I have to sit on the floor and roll around with preschool kids.
