Great news for Kindle Fire gadget lovers as
prices are
slashed for the Amazon Kindle Fire HD, to clear off
shelves.
After less than a month on Canadian retail
shelves, HP has been forced to
slash the
price of its tablet computer for the second time.
The TouchPad, ironically, has been flying off the
shelves since HP announced on August 18 that it was pulling the plug on the device and
slashing the
price for the most basic model from $ 399 to $ 99.
Unsaleable products are unceremoniously removed from store
shelves and replaced with products that (hopefully) will sell (or else their
prices are
slashed dramatically just to get them out of the store).
In defense of online vendor's
price -
slashing promotion, brick - and - mortar bookstores need to do whatever they can to bring their customers back to the physical
shelf.
That could explain why Apple recently
slashed the
price from $ 99 to $ 69, giving it the distinction of being the cheapest top -
shelf set - top box in our buying guide.
Roku is retooling its entire lineup of media streamers this fall, adding HDR support and voice - recognition to several models, while
slashing $ 30 off the
price of the Roku Ultra, its top -
shelf offering.
