sleep crutches so addressing one alone wont do the trick!

Today, they didn't want to go to
sleep at naptime... they both cried uncontrollably, even after rocking and even after putting them in the swings (and BTW... I am using the damn swings as a
crutch, but I AM
SO TIRED).

sleep coach, but believe me when I tell you that there's such a marked difference between a well - rested, well - napped baby and one who has
sleep issues (or just bad
sleep habits or what I like to call
sleep crutches).
I suggest that you continue to use the naptime
sleep crutch and create a flexible schedule that includes your baby's naptimes,
so that your baby is getting quality daytime
sleep while you are focused on night coaching.
But once I realized the co-sleeping was leading to a boob - in - the - mouth - like - a-pacifier
sleep crutch, I sacked up and moved them to their cribs
so I could distinguish between the «I'm actually hungry and need to eat» wakings from the «I'm just awake and need to learn to self soothe» ones.
So, if a child can not fall asleep without a parent feeding him to
sleep, the feeding becomes a
crutch.
I'm not confident either, often falling back to my old
crutches, like feeding or rocking him to
sleep, which seems
so much easier in the short term, even though I know it's probably the wrong decision in the long run.
