Juicy
watermelon, crispy prosciutto (you can also use
bacon or pancetta), spicy arugula and grilled halloumi cheese would be layered together and then sandwiched between two good - quality
slices of multi-grain bread (I like this local brand).
Simply take a juicy, grilled chicken breast, two strips
of thick cooked
bacon, and a
slice of mozzarella or provolone and slide between two 1/2» planks
of watermelon cut right from the sweetest, ripest «heart»
of the melon.
On any given day, my fridge is filled with bowls
of pre-
sliced apples (soaked in a little citric acid to prevent browning), grapes,
sliced strawberries, cut up cantaloupe and
watermelon, pre-torn salad greens,
sliced cucumbers, green peppers, hard boiled eggs, pre-baked
bacon, black olives and even a nice big bowl
of brown rice.
