brightness of the H8C measures at around 440 cd / m ² —
higher than most 1080p televisions, but
slightly below average for HDR - devices.
And while we're not sure whether it's the pseudo-concave design of the display, that drops ever - so
slightly on both edges or the thinner Gorilla Glass, the
high definition pixel matrix seems to skim across the face of the phone — viewing angles are great, especially if the
brightness is cranked up.
The RGBW panel on the Mate 10 is
slightly smaller at 5.9 ″ instead of 6 ″, but boasts of a
higher resolution (2560 × 1440) in a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio, and it can achieve 730 nits of
brightness for outdoor visibility.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's max
brightness topped out at a
slightly higher 530 nits, while the Google Pixel XL was dimmer, at 396 nits.
Brightness is of no concern either, even if it has to be pumped up to the
highest level in daylight for optimal viewing, and while sharpness might be
slightly lacking in comparison, reading text is of no issue on this Full HD screen.
