image being planted in more brains could potentially cause people to take a second look at my
book cover, subconsciously thinking where have I seen this before?
I make SO much more money as an indie author, and sales
of my self - pubbed version
of the
book that
small press put out are much bigger because I sell at a more attractive price (2.99 compared to 5.50) and I have a better
cover (a fun, custom illustration depicting my exact characters rather than a $ 10 stock photo
image.)
Remember that people are only going to see a tiny thumbnail - size
image of your
cover when they're searching through the thousands
of other
books in your category, and if they're browsing on their mobile phones they'll see a really
small cover.
Below that is a
small, maybe only 1/3
of the
cover,
image with large block letters below for the title
of the
book.
The last button, the three
small dots that signify the «more» menu, offer options such as deleting the
book, finding the next instance
of the search term, locking the
book rotation, additional downloads, looking up a term in the dictionary, or even editing the
book's metadata, such as title, author,
cover image, and genres — an extremely handy option.
Artwork is accurately sized in the sense
of not having
images that are too
small, big, narrow or wide that is very important for a
book of art, while it is accompanied by precise positioning and spacing in accordance to create a wonderful presentation
of everything Destiny from the front to back
cover and everything in between.
