In a recent paper, Woolley
examined the track records of five provincial
law societies and concluded 87 per cent of the lawyers disciplined in 2009 were either sole or
small firm practitioners while none who belonged to a very large or national
firm were disciplined.
On a
smaller scale, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner did the same and
examined more than 250 websites doing business in the province, including charities, private colleges,
law firms, credit unions, retailers, property management companies and health care organization.
