You will need
a small piece of scrap wood, a few PVC pipes, some hooks and rubber bands.
My hubby cut two
small pieces of scrap wood for me, which were also sprayed ORB and became the pieces that would hold the «strings» and be the fret at the bottom.

We just took 3
pieces of scrap wood (1 × 6 or 1 × 8 probably) and cut them all to the same length (maybe 15 ″ wide or so), then used
smaller scraps (1 × 2) as braces along the back and put screws in them to hold it all together.
If you are still not sure, mix up a
small amount and paint a
scrap piece of wood to get the feel for painting with chalk paint.
Using one 4 x 4 post, cut two 6 - inch
pieces (we had Home Depot cut these for us from a
smaller piece of 4x4
scrap wood post).
So, rather than just secure a pretty oil rubbed bronze holder to the wall, I attached it to a
piece of stained
scrap wood to create a shelf for decorative accessories like a
small plant, air freshener, vase
of flowers, extra t.p. or even just cell phone accident prevention, if you know what I mean.
Try mixing it into clear wax and then put it on a
small spot or
scrap piece of wood to see.
Before you start painting, I would recommend doing a
small application test either on a
scrap piece of wood or somewhere unnoticeable on the
piece of furniture, either on the back or the underside
of a drawer like I did.
