The right - hand side features the remaining buttons and ports, including the exposed 3.5 mm headphone jack, the covered microSD and micro-SIM slots,
the small power button and volume rocker.

Gone is the round
volume /
power dial on the bottom left
and the
small joystick on the bottom right, as all of the raised
buttons, rockers
and dials have been replaced by digital interfaces.
The top of the Streak (or right, if you're holding it vertically) houses a 3.5 mm headphone jack, narrow
volume controls, a
small recessed
power button,
and a camera launch / shutter key.
Though the
volume rocker
and power buttons look attractive in gunmetal gray, Dell made the odd choice of placing them on the left side, the opposite of most
small tablets
and phones.
When held in landscape mode, you'll find a
small power button on the left of the G - Slate
and volume controls up top.
The right edge holds
Power and Volume Up / Down
buttons, plus the microSD card slot hidden behind a

Aside from a
small smattering of
buttons, which comprise the iconoic home

Thanks to the Revolve's
small size
and the lack of any

power buttons between the keyboard
and display, the touchscreen is within three inches of where the user would normally rest their hands.
Having the
power and volume buttons separated like this feels more comfortable for me, but if you're someone with
smaller hands (again, don't buy any of these phones), then you might have trouble reaching that far.
On top of that, the
volume buttons are
small and difficult to access, with the Bluetooth - pairing
and power buttons easy to press inadvertently,
and in our tests the bass was so blobby
and bloated it coated every other frequency range.
Though I didn't have a G3 on hand for comparison, the G4 definitely seems to benefit from the same efficient, slightly curved body design that makes it feel
smaller than it actually is (
and places the
power and volume buttons in a slightly awkward place on the back).
The P9 Plus's right edge plays home to the only
buttons on the device: the
volume rocker switch
and the
small, textured
power / sleep
button - which Huawei has seen fit to give a red trim on the Plus model.
The phone is obviously in a snap - on case of some sort, so we don't have a look at the complete edge, but what we can see aligns with our previous posts the
power and volume buttons are positioned more toward the middle of the device, a center - aligned headphone jack,
and Android L with new solid status bar icons
and smaller, more spaced - out navigation
buttons that we've seen a couple of times now.
The
power and volume buttons are nice
and clicky (though they're a bit
smaller and higher up than I'd like),
and there's a headphone jack next to the USB - C port.
Powered by two AAA batteries, the
small controller features a
volume rocker, as well as a circular touchpad
and the back
and home
button duo to mimic what's found on the side of the headset.
But it's not significantly
smaller than the Offgrid Express,
and we found it hard to reach the
volume buttons and power key when the iPhone was in it.
It looks like a
smaller version of LG G4 with rear facing
volume and power buttons and a subtly curved back.
The
volume rocker sits on the right - hand side of the phone,
and we found this a little too
small — it's around the same size as the adjacent
power button, so we regularly accidentally locked the phone rather than changing the
volume.
The
volume rocker
and power button are metal too, but like last year's phone, they are still a little too
small.
Around the edges of the Z1 we see the circular
power button and small volume rocker on the left hand side, below a covered SIM card slot.
We like the
smaller 8.4 - inch MediaPad's design, but the larger 10 - inch Pro model design is a little more puzzling due to the position of the
power and volume buttons.
The
volume rocker is
small and located at about the same height as the
power button, which makes them tough to distinguish in your pocket.
A
small selection of
buttons is set into the bar's main control panel, allowing adjustment of
volume, source,
and standby
power.
The
power and volume buttons still sit on the right
and left sides of the device, respectively, but are notably
smaller than on the Note 4.
A four - direction switch that can adjust
volume and balance between game
and voice audio with a round
power button next to it sit on the right earcup,
and a
small switch for choosing between Bass Mode (bass emphasis), Supreme Mode (flat balance),
and Precision Mode (mid-high emphasis) sit on the edge of the cup.
The N5 also boasts ceramic
power and volume buttons — a
small detail, but one which gives the keys a more premium finish than the plastic
buttons of most Android devices.
Samsung managed to keep the
power and volume buttons put on the sides, which is no
small feat, but there's a dramatic reduction in the amount of metal available to wrap your hands around.
The right - hand edge of the Z3 Compact has all the device's critical
buttons: the
small, circular
power button sits immediately above the
volume rocker;
and further down you'll find the dedicated two - stage camera
button.
