Once your marital problems have risen to the level of a court case with lawyers involved, you will find yourself feeling like a passenger in
a small rubber raft, floating with the current.
The film opens in 1944 with Corporal Allison (Robert Mitchum) alone occupying
a small rubber raft, which eventually brings him to Tuasiva, a tropical atoll that is currently the exclusive home of Sister Angela (Deborah Kerr), an Irish nun who has recently buried a priest and missed a ride to safety in Fiji.
