We present two types of
Small Works exhibitions — open and juried.
The Small Works exhibitions present a stylistic and thematic range of small - scale, affordable artwork by artists within a 50 mile radius of Woodstock.
Not exact matches
Working in
small groups of no more than 10, students receive specialized training, produce portfolio - quality
work, gain insight into future careers in creative fields, and participate in a group
exhibition in a professional gallery.
Having been immediately hailed by European critics as one of his era's greatest painters, Soutine, who was based in France for much of his career, was largely ignored in America until the Museum of Modern Art in New York hosted a
small exhibition of his
work in 1950.
I have been filling sketchbooks with designs in thatch for some time, but in creating this new piece of
work, I was able to spend time with a thatcher (called Stewart Alexander) and design and make a unique piece of
work for my
exhibition as a result, albeit relatively
small - scale for the time being until my skills and experience increase — my experience of thatching is at the absolute beginning.
Coinciding with the
exhibition Re-Generation, which maps the lasting effect of Josef Albers teaching on three successive generations of painters, is a

In 2010, Duffy died at the age of 76, leaving behind a
small number of signed
works, many on view within the
exhibition.
Based in Lisbon, he started his
work as an illustrator collaborating in
small fanzines and
exhibitions, before finishing his degree in Architecture at Universidade Técnica de Lisboa.
The
exhibition features 31
works including monumental and
small - scale pieces installed throughout the sculpture park and museum, and is focused on a new commission that resurrects Deacon's 1993
work Never Mind, which has been re-fabricated in stainless steel.
Fishman is currently the subject of two large
exhibitions: «Louise Fishman: A Retrospective» at the Neuberger Museum of Art acts as the 77 - year - old's first comprehensive show, while «Paper Louise Tiny Fishman Rock» at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia displays an entirely different body of
work, focusing on sketchbooks,
smaller paintings and sculptures, and other rarely - seen items.
RADICALS II At the Brooklyn Museum in April, a
smaller exhibition, «We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965 - 85,» organized by the museum's Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, came with
work by more than 40 artist - activists and a dynamite sourcebook - style catalog.
Central within the
exhibition is the monumental bronze All I want is you (2016) and a series of
smaller works in the same medium.
It is a
small show, consisting of only 29
works of widely varying scale, drawn from a larger
exhibition organized by the Pérez Art Museum Miami.
For West Wall, Dwan Main Gallery (1967), a now classic
exhibition presented in 2008 at Peter Blum, Chelsea, William Anastasi photographed an empty gallery, silkscreened that image onto a slightly
smaller canvas, and installed that
work on the wall, making «the wall... a kind of ready - made mural,» thus changing «every show in that space thereafter.»

Apsara DiQuinzio, our Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, and Phyllis C. Wattis, MATRIX Curator, has a number of wonderful
small - scale MATRIX shows in the
works, and we are doing several borrowed solo
exhibitions that are emblematic of the kind of art that we love, such as a survey of Ana Mendieta's films [Covered in Time and History: The Films of Ana Mendieta, on view November 9, 2016, through February 12, 2017].
The
exhibition at Ameringer McEnery Yohe, who last year presented a show of
work by Wolf Kahn (see more in this video), sees Brian Alfred capturing
small slices of time that aim to capture the emotions of watching the races.
Bad Witch (1970)(pictured above) and
Small Bad Witch (1972), respectively the largest mixed media
work in the
exhibition and its
smaller study, depict a large hypodermic needle with a face, surrounded by heroin paraphernalia including a spoon.

After a long absence following his last solo show at Paula Cooper (in 1977), Van Buren's
work finally began filtering back into public view in New York about 10 years ago, first at
small venues such as Mitchell Algus Gallery and Sideshow, and in the revelatory
exhibition 2007 traveling
exhibition «High Times Hard Times: New York Painting 1965 - 1975.»
Small Editions is pleased to present (wordless), a group
exhibition featuring the
works of Rosaire Appel, Zipora Fried, and Renee Gladman.
Golub experimented with scale, and the
works assembled for this
exhibition range in size from the
smaller works on paper to monumental, unstretched canvases that extended from floor to ceiling at the Serpentine Gallery.
For her upcoming
exhibition at Greengrassi in London in January, Greenbaum plans to show around 200
smaller works, allowing viewers to piece together a sprawling gestural history that aspires not to the epic, but the intimate.

Well known as a discerning art collector, he owns several
small works by Harris, although none is in this show, which Martin says is the first
exhibition to focus exclusively on great
works from Harris's best - known period.
There are currently several

works by women artists scattered around MoMA although perhaps secreted might more accurately reflect the stealth approach to the serious engagement with curation, presentation, and acquisition of

exhibition featuring the
work of Rosaire Appel, Zipora Fried and Renee Gladman.
This spotlight
exhibition will present all twenty illustrated plates from Henri Matisse's Jazz alongside a
small selection of additional
works by the artist from the Albright - Knox's collection.
This
exhibition is complemented by a
smaller selection of
works at Michael Werner, where Doig's iconic motif of a batlike figure makes a cave of its Upper East Side abode.
The
exhibition includes mixed - media painting as well as
small - scale
works on paper, collage, and a new piece of writing.
While Gil
works in a variety of formats, from

exhibition focuses on the artist's large
