The new gallery is based around a different bunch of paradoxes: from being a big fish in a small pond to another gallery in a vast sea of art; from having a deluxe art space to a more modest one.
After all, the last couple of years have seen three major exhibitions in London art museums that have focused on architecture («Sensing Spaces» at the RA, «Ruin Lust» at Tate Britain, «Constructing Worlds» at the Barbican), and smaller shows regularly claim some sort of interrogative capacity for exploring the interaction between these two broad categories of material culture.
M E N is a contemporary art gallery located in the Two Bridges neighborhood of New York City, presenting singular artistic gestures by emerging and mid-career artists in a purposefully - small storefront exhibition space.
Running concurrently with the PrintMatters - organized shows are exhibitions at art spaces large and small; their offerings range from student works to prints by blue - chip artists collaborating with master printers.
Just in time for the city's art fair, we present you a selection of spaces all around the city, from the blue - chip galleries, to the small ones where the local scene is always buzzing.
Both spaces for temporary exhibitions draw on the permanent collection, as does a small alcove in modern art for work by women.

For one, the dominance of brick walls, wood floors, big windows and frequent columns of its repurposed 19th - century factory buildings is the apotheosis of SoHo, whose small - industry loft spaces were taken over by commercial art galleries in the 1970s.
