The proportion of forcing to CO2 amount eventually
becomes linear as the amount of CO2 goes to zero — this is nothing special; any continuous smooth function can be approximated by a straight line over a sufficiently short
interval; adding a sufficiently
small amount of any greenhouse gas will have about half the effect as adding twice as much.
