Generally, my vision is to empower and enrich conservation awareness among local people in
snow leopard habitat and the general public.
To the left is a map that illustrates how our team was able to locate a
wild snow leopard den on a previous den visit in 2012.
Our research in the area has proven that it's an important habitat for the
endangered snow leopard and its prey species.
For the first time, governments in all 12
snow leopard range countries are coming together to agree actions to conserve these big cats and their habitat.
We evaluate these programs based on how well they
protect snow leopard habitat, wild prey species, and the cats themselves.
Everyone is intrigued
by snow leopard habitat because home for these cats is such remote and rugged locations.
To accomplish this, we partner with communities
sharing snow leopard habitat areas through programs that benefit both people and wildlife alike.
But the more - illuminating information comes from in - depth interviews with 42
snow leopard experts across all 12 range countries.
We found no evidence in support of models assuming variation in survival probability, indicating that
snow leopard survival probability did not vary over the years (Table 2).
The range area is only around 10,000 square kilometres representing 0.5 % of the total
