By now I am almost fully pledged vegetarian (I still
eat fish sometimes though, but that need decreases) As a former meat eater I enjoyed Golabki, Flaki and Pierogies, both are polish cuisines because even though I was born in Germany, half my heritage (specific: my mother) comes from Poland and I grew up with traditional polish cuisine, which still counts as comfort
food to me (Omg I need to mention I tried

so good) Basically I've been brought up with no fear from anything new, I have no prejudices, try everything I can and enjoy home cooked meals made with local basic ingridients the most!

food girl in a season of taking care of herself - in part

I haven't ventured to step on the scale yet, I'm going to kind of detox my body
by eating healthy
foods for the next week or
so and then see what the scale says.
One of the most exciting things that I have added to the blog are categories
so you can now search
by diet, course or WW points and attached easy - to - navigate
food labels indicating whether a recipe is gluten free, paleo, clean
eating, vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and low carb.
People can get
so fooled
by good marketing or what they think is a health
food and it's a shame when they are
eating the wrong things.
We don't
eat a lot of meat and also keep a kosher kitchen,
so here are my go to's these days: three bean veggie chili (inspired
by whole
foods — GREAT leftover
food); roast chicken (Ina's); stir fries with tofu or chicken (super into cabbage and you can get it to taste like moo shoo with the proper sauces); roasted brussel sprouts with barley, cranberries, walnuts, and some goat cheese depending on who you are; grilled chicken (breasts... I know they're not your thing).
Losing weight is hard enough,
so make it easier for yourself
by opting for
foods that allow you to
eat more, for less.
My problem is that I don't really
eat bananas on their own
so they are never hanging around when I am craving banana cake — or lets be honest am begged for banana cake
by my giant
food inhaler!
Having a wheat free diet can be made
so much simpler
by using the GoodnessDirect flagging system which highlights everything you can
eat, rather than focusing on all those
foods you can't.
The Australian Dietary Guidelines are for use
by health professionals, policy makers, educators,
food manufacturers,
food retailers and researchers,
so they can find ways to help Australians
eat healthy diets.
By dinner on day 8 I was finally able to
eat my first solid
food so that has been a very pleasant surprise!

For toddlers,
food is both nourishment and a chance to explore,
so make mealtime fun
by cutting
foods into shapes, inviting your toddler to help you prepare meals, or letting him play with his
food while he
eats.
I put a cold pack in it on top of the container to help his
food stay cold but he said usually the cold pack melts
by the time he
eats his
food so his
food isn't usually cold anymore and the ice pack is warm.

As to LTFA and school lunches, I'd like to say that there really needs to be better education for the schools / nutrition services & personnel as to what is REALLY in the
foods, what has / hasn't been disclosed
by manufacturers (true grasp of the
food labelling laws as currently written), and how to fully and accurately provide all students / parents / consumers with timely and accurate ingredient lists
so that fully - informed and educated decisions can be made as to when / if student might
eat the cafeteria (bfast or lunch)
foods.
Do encourage healthful
eating habits, but do
so through the
foods you offer and
by being a good role model, not
by criticizing their
food preferences.
The survey, filled out
by 436
so - called lunch ladies, also found that half of the respondents «rarely or never» see principals
eating school lunch and 61 percent feared they'd be disciplined for reporting
food «quality or safety concerns to parents or kids.»
Between busy work and childcare schedules, it's impossible to
eat together all the time,
so start
by trying to add just one more relaxed, TV - free meal a week, and serve everyone the same
food.
Secondly, there are
so many good (and easy) places to
eat Indian
food close
by, like Shanti.
At that time, in 1996, no doctor ever suggested that his eczema could be caused
by what I was

so I kept
eating peanut butter and shrimp and other highly allergenic
