Actually it's the only
way I buy bananas now that I found the «Re-Wraps»... I buy trees of freckled wonders (the clerk always asks if I am making banana bread and I tell her I own a monkey, «It's my own ritual of getting these treasures home»)... You see we are BIG FANS of hot cereals, Oatmeal, etc... AND there is NOTHING
so delicious as a ripe banana in it... We even eat baked or broiled oatmeal as desserts, with those ripe bananas hidden within like buried treasures... Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe... So, my
wonderful husband who was desperate for some mussely goodness hustled his butt down to Costco, they took
in our dead mussels and gave us a brand new batch and I went to work preparing them three
ways!
I have been stuck
in a (
wonderful) guacamole phase
so this would be a great
way to break the recent dinner mold!
But there is just something about it that is
so wonderful and amazing
in every
way that makes it perfect for a sticky sweet / spicy / salty sauce.
Don't be afraid of tofu; I'm not trying to be reminded of meat
so I won't say it was «meaty», but it had a
wonderful texture, wasn't mushy
in any
way, and best of all absorbed the flavours perfectly.
It looked
wonderful until I put it
in the oven... I had never baked macarons before
so it was also a bit ambitious from me to start trying baking some and heading directly for the vegan
way!
I feel a bit as if my efforts
in this space now are,
in a
way, giving back to the
wonderful community that gave
so much to me
in my early years as a vegan — wondering what a lentil was and why people bought containers filled with «fish flakes» (a.k.a. nutritional yeast).
I haven't made this yet,
so I can't write a review per se, but it looks like a
