My 6 year old LOVES
juicing now but the walking / biking — not
so much.
I looked forward to this beet
juice, and started to crave the combination that made up the
juice (beets, a variety of greens, apples, etc.)
so much so that I knew I had to put a juicer on our wedding registry list.
Because the straight pulp is still a bit soft when frozen, too
much alcohol will cause it not to freeze at all...
so if you do add some rum, I'd recommend using the coconut milk and lime
juice as well to make sure it turns into an ice - pop.
We've been trained to think tomato
juice tastes like that canned stuff when in reality, fresh tomato
juice has
so much more depth of flavor.
The kids have always loved spirulina smoothies
so getting them to try a green smoothie for breakfast wasn't to
much of a stretch, but to further disguise the silverbeet (chard) I've bumped up the flavours by adding some freshly squeezed orange
juice and virgin coconut oil,
so even the most weary reader will enjoy it too!
also, the yogurt in the tahini sauce can be substituted with plain soy or coconut yogurt, just be mindful these yogurts do not have as
much punchiness as greek yogurt
so you may want to add more lemon

So, to recreate this recipe in a healthy way, I'm using whole, frozen fruits instead of processed fruit
juice which makes it almost identical to the original recipe but
much healthier.

so it is absorbed very
much more quickly by the blood.

i also can't stress enough the importance of using the
juice from the rotisserie chicken — there is
so much flavor there it would be blasphemy not to.
So the reality is, the new «healthy» drinks and foods sweetened with fruit
juice concentrate contain just as
much sugar as they used to.
So when you slice and roast them,
much of the
juice seeps out, creating an amazing basting sauce that's slightly tangy, while you're left to eat the citrusy sweet kumquat itself.
So these packaged products aren't necessarily bad, and are still
much better than most commercially produced sports drinks and fruit
juices, they just aren't the same as fresh young coconut water.
