I've become addicted to Vintage Market and Designs Chalk and mineral paint, it is a phenomenal product and their colors are really beautiful that is my new favorite, BUT it requires sealing with wax or top coat, it covers so well and it dries so nice and smoothly.
Of course, I'll still have a lot of drawers full of workout gear and ratty painting and construction clothes, but I don't need to spend so much on my nicer stuff

I just found you and I took spray paint everything white and it looks so much nicer.
I happen to like a little more variety at my house, so while using all one paint color or intensity of color throughout would be simple (or sticking with all white) and would definitely create a nice flow, I find I get a little bored unless there are some creative surprises as I walk through my home.
