I'm the kind
of person that rips the band aid off FAST,
so that's my approach to
crate training.
Crate training is a very good method
of teaching a dog a schedule
so that boredom and anxiety do not cause him to become destructive.
The main reason for
crate training is
so that your dog / puppy can stay tucked away for a period
of time when needed — usually overnight or traveling when you can't supervise them.
She was not
crate trained but very treat motivated
so we would throw treats in her
crate and she would dance around the front
of the
crate and put her head in and out, trying to figure out how to get the treats out
of there.
This is an unfortunate but necessary part
of the
training,
so do this
training when you'll be able to have time to bathe your poor dog when you get him out

so that when you let him out, it will be easier to focus all
