God is not maniacally killing anyone in the Old Testament, but is demonstrating the dire consequences of sin, the dire need for a Savior who has come, and the need for the indwelling power of His Spirit to transform the life so that living pleases God who is our righteousness, holiness, and redemption (Gen. 3:15; Gal.

Not sure i am convinced because how do you explain the verse an eye for an eye in the old testament there have always been consequences for wrong doing and stiill are for sin.If we believe the word then that word is from God not satan. As far as satan is concerned he uses violence as his tools of trade he works on our fears and is limited to robbing stealing and destroying he does nt have anything else.Violence confirms to us that there is a spiritual battle going on both on the earthly plane and in the heavenlys and the battle is over souls. The verse the kingdon of heaven is expanding and violent people take it by force is referring to that spiritual battle and as satan uses violence to expand his dominion so does God use violence to counter him.So what does he mean by that term for me i think it is saying that the the force of evil that satan uses or violence is overcome by a greater violence or force a more powerful one that being the Love of Christ.Through the cross we see that clearly portrayed and in our lives that very same battle is still happening right now for dominion be clear if we walk in the flkesh satan will have dominion over us but if we walk according to the spirit and abide in Christ we have freedom from our old nature.and satan. He can oppose us but he wont be able to influence us if we are in Christ.

Rick the more i think about it we are to live as overcomers not strugglers since the day i decided to turn away from the sin that was controlling my life i never fell back into old sinful patterns not once, was i tempted many many times. The Lord will work in our lives one area at a time he needs us to give him full control so if an area is taking control we do need to hand it to him so he can change us.How do we do it immediately we say Lord you know i am weak but in you i am strong i leaned on him and overcame time and time again. We all have areas of weakness that we struggle in so do nt feel bad.Struggling is us trying to do it in our own strength before this process i was so stubborn i refused to let God help me i wanted to do it in my own strength and so it was a roller coaster ride in my christian walk if the day went well i was on a high if it did nt i would would be down. Not any more now when things do nt go to plan i still thank the Lord and when it goes well i thank the Lord.Because i know that all things work for good to those who love the Lord. The main area he is wanting is our hearts he wants all our heart not only some until we come to that place we will continue to struggle in our faith. The only reason to tell you this is not to boast because of what i have done in myself because i have nothing to boast about but if i did i would brag that Christ has empowered me by his holy spirit to be an overcomer just as he would want you to be.As Christians we are all called to be overcomers more than conquerers.Make a decision today to turn all your hearts to the Lord to acknowledge the areas you are holding onto that are controlling your flesh life hand them to the Lord and walk according to the spirit and not the flesh and he will give you the victory. That can be a reality starting today merry christmas everyone and may the new year be an exciting one as we put all our trust in Christ our Lord and savior.Brentnz
I think most of the Americans are in lost... as most of them do not know who their father is and it is very unfortunate... even if they know who their father is, the mom has children from diff men outside of marriage... and while a child is being raised, watching what his / her parents do to enjoy their life... so things become normal when they grow up... like if you go back early nineteen century, women were not allowed to go to beach without being covered... and now it totally opposite... if you do not have a boyfriend or girlfriend before 15, the parents worries that their teenage has some problem... and lot more can be listed... And then you go to Church, what our children learn from there... they see in front of the Church an old man's statue with long beard standing with extending of both hand... some of the status are blank, white, Spanish and so on... so they are being taught God as an old dude... then you learn from Catholic that you pray to Jesus, Mother Marry, Saints, Death spirit and all these... the poll shows a huge number of young American turns to Atheism or believing there is no God and so on... Its hard to assume where these nations are going with the name of modernization... nothing wrong having scientists discovered the cure of aids or the pics from mars but... we should all think and learn from our previous generations and correct ourselves... also ppl are becoming so much slave of material things...
This is the Paul who is so deeply renewed in the dawning of modernity, but also the Paul who was the creator of Christian theology, a theology which if only in Paul is a purely and consistently apocalyptic theology, and Paul's realization of the ultimate polarity or dichotomy of consciousness is an apocalyptic realization, one reflecting an apocalyptic dichotomy between old aeon and new aeon, or flesh (sarx) and Spirit (pneuma).
Here, Paul, is extraordinarily important, for he is our first purely apocalyptic thinker, and so far as we now know the first ancient thinker fully to draw forth the subject of consciousness, an «I» or subject which he could know as a dichotomous subject, a subject wholly divided or doubled between an old «I» of «flesh» (sarx) and a new «I» of Spirit (pneuma).

Jeremy i am surprised you never countered my argument Up till now the above view has been my understanding however things change when the holy spirit speaks. He amazes me because its always new never old and it reveals why we often misunderstand scripture in the case of the woman caught in adultery. We see how she was condemned to die and by the grace of God Jesus came to her rescue that seems familar to all of us then when they were alone he said to her Go and sin no more. This is the point we misunderstand prior to there meeting it was all about her death when she encountered Jesus something incredible happened he turned a death situation into life situation so from our background as sinners we still in our thinking and understanding dwell in the darkness our minds are closed to the truth. In effect what Jesus was saying to her and us is chose life and do nt look back that is what he meant and that is the walk we need to live for him. That to me was a revelation it was always there but hidden.Does it change that we need discipline in the church that we need rules and guidelines for our actions no we still need those things. But does it change how we view non believers and even ourselves definitely its not about sin but its all about choosing life and living. He also revealed some other interesting things on salvation so i might mention those on the once saved always saved discussion.Jeremy just want to say i really appreciate your website because i have not really discussed issues like this and it really is making me press in to the Lord for answers to some of those really difficult questions.regards brentnz
I suggest that a reading of scripture gives us the clues, that John was in fact the last Levitical priest whose task was to inaugurate the» handing over» of the priesthood to the new High Priest, in the new order of Melchizedek (as the writer of the Letter to Hebrews explains it) So Jesus came to John the Levite, John gave Jesus the ritual bath of the High Priest, then Jesus emerged from the bath not to be anointed with oil as the old Levites, but to be anointed with the Holy Spirit and then Jesus» distinction was announced to the people by the voice of God Himself.
«So let me get this straight, you have two - way conversations with invisible spirits, you think the earth is 10,000 years old, you believe the world was once covered in water (about 5,000 years ago), you believe your invisible sky father came to earth in human form after a virgin birth, then rose as a zombie, from the dead, then ascended into an invisible sky city... all because the first people on earth ate and apple before proceeding on with decades of incest... am I getting this?»

Just because Wars had been waged in the name of religion doesn't make the point of it Wrong,,, otherwise why does it say (He who loves me, keeps my commandments) almost at the same time as it says (I give you a new commandment, love...) in short, Yes, Jesus is what matters, but to know Jesus I need His word, the Bible, I need a relationship with Him, I need to understand What He wants me to be Like (Be Holy as your Father in Heaven) which is not just an old testament quote, but a new Testament as well,,, at the end, if Religion was so pointless and to be hated, why Would God ask us to test the spirits, why does he tell us (by their fruits you would know them.)
M.d religion is about man there is alot of man in the evangelical church as well as other churchs however the Holy spirit is the one we lean on to teach us Gods word he reveals the scriptures just as though Jesus was teaching his disciples in his day.Often after speaking in parable his disciples would ask what he meant and he would give them insight into the messages.I find for me if i struggle understanding a topic i ask the holy spirit to help me if you havent received him just invite him into your life if you have already confessed Jesus as your Lord and savior. We can not live a christian life without him.He is the one who empowers us to live righteously rather than according to our old nature. In the last year or so he has been showing me extraordinary insight into the word its new its fresh he is amazing.brentnz
Jefferson in his many words is todays paul by basically testifying to a lost society by preaching «The heart «that is what God wants not the shell which will rott away.I can stand with this truth until the day I die because I also have had disagreements in my church about this same topic.I dispise religion and encourage salvation which come from having a relationship with Jesus. Many may ask how do i have a relationship with him?by simply asking God through prayer, not what we know as pray but simply given up and telling God he win. That is what being righteous means saying «lord your're right and i will believe and obey that.Last i will like to thank jefferson for this clip, becuase for so long I have been feeling like todays churches in not like the first churches. They are stuck into their four cornered walls preaching to those who already obtain the word and people who already think they are perfect, but what about the weak and the sinners who we are suppose to love, go after, preach to, help and deliver the same way as Christ camed for the sinners so do we also be like him.Jefferson basically telling all us young people and old no matter who have suffered in the world, the church, or no matter what party or the past that there is hope and «God wants that person» not the sin but the person.Jefferson wants us to know that God can become personal with us and we do exist or can exist in the christian world not because we are perfect but because «he is perfect and he saw our broken spirits and rescued us!
There is little if anything else in the Old Testament which comes so close to the spirit of the New as these words he represents Yahweh as speaking:
In the Old Testament, however, the actual practice of worshiping ancestors had been so far overpassed that while one first rate scholar says, «There is a growing consensus of opinion that the Hebrews, like all other peoples at a certain stage of thought, worshipped these spirits,» (Henry Preserved Smith: The Religion of Israel, p. 25) another first - rate scholar says, «The alleged indications of Ancestor Worship are all exposed to more or less serious objections.»
I love the whole spirit of Christmas; The Christmas story from the bible is beautiful and so is the whole St. Nick (Santa) story and they both touch my heart... if you only want to love the jolly old elf because he gives toys to children then that is certainly your right... because we live in the land of the free... To stop sinning is impossible for us on the one hand but is possible in Christ so what must we do for a start we must accept Jesus and we must be born again. Our old nature must be crucified and we need to walk by the spirit of God.But is it a reality yes definitely because the word says that sin shall not have dominion over us.The victory is found in Christ not in ourselves because we can not do it in our strength so we humble ourselves before God in our weakness so that by doing so allows the holy spirit to empower us to do what only he can do.In that way we become overcomers more than conquerers.I am seeing the reality of what Christ can do with a sinner like me as he moulds me in the person i was destined to be in him.
Mostly they came, I think, because, he loved them and could tell them so, yes, even those vast, milling throngs; there was a touch, a sense, a spirit moving in, across, among those mobs of eager people, told them here at last they had a man who was concerned not for himself, who was not out to get himself elected, but who cared for every single one of them, and tottering old dames, lepers, whores, soldiers, robbers; I've seen them all transformed by seeing him.

This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits

More than that, having a seventeen year old son makes me very conscious of how he feels having a mum wear certain lengths (as free spirited and relaxed as I am about what I wear, how much my legs are exposed does affect him - has so, ever since he was six years old — in sanely modest and protective despite my shirts not being overly short at all: «mum - your shorts are a bit short»).

There is also a great deal of time spent exploring the torch carried by Rosie's daughter on one of her classmates, and while this is certainly not a complete burden on the spirit of the film, I wonder why so much time is given to exploring such pursuits when whatever parallels one can draw between the two different love interests, the older and younger, are so minimal.
The young, of course, have always done things differently from the old, but Pipher suggests, and I think rightly, that perhaps never before have the two generations been so far removed in body, mind, and spirit, as they are in America today, to the immeasurable detriment of both.

Then as our community moves progressively forward, we can all still be relieved to know that Miami is still on its way to transcending its past as just another dumbed down tourist destination — promoting that less thoughtful decaying visual aroma that we still get a whiff of now and then... that kind of old Miami putrid commercialized smell that turned so many despondent and sour and caused the international arts communities to view Miami's indifference to an international discourse as but a memory, constantly recuperating the South Florida pastiche... a past that if you need reminding of you need only take a trip to Key West to know what kind of image Miami is still fighting against — the land built on coral and swamp, but filled with cheap and shallow tawdriness, like acid in your contemporary, progressive face, eyes of mundane kitschy campiness saddening and maddening, dumbed down affection that solicits and sells itself to another kind of cultural neanderthal — the accidental drunken tourist who seeks passive mediocrity and the same in other kindred spirits -LSB-.]
