cloth diapers!
The benefits are that they're
so easy to use,
so you may end up using
cloth diapers longer
than you would if you had a two - piece system.
There are
so many reasons people use
cloth diapers, and
so many reasons people use disposable
diapers (the entry costs to start using
cloth diapers are way more
than some excellent parents can manage, for example) that it makes no sense to me to make judgments about other people's parenting on the basis of choices about
diapering.
They are bulkier
than disposables which I expected, but
so easy to put on, fit well, wash easy and I am very happy to be able to use
cloth diapers without the folding and
diaper pins.
Most people aren't used to
cloth diapers so by leaving a few
diapers that are easy to use, lika the AIO or the one - size
diaper, it makes it easier and less daunting
than simply leaving a pack of muslins for them to figure out.
I am pretty well immersed in the
cloth diapering world and know what's out there,
so I am more
than willing to bring in
diapers I haven't tried myself first (though I have tried many!).
But
cloth diaper companies started developing
diaper covers for the old fashioned rectangular
diapers that fasten at the hips with either snaps or Velcro even as far back as the «60's — they just cost
so much more
than the pull - on pants that most people didn't bother.
Fitted
cloth diapers are easier to use
than pre-folds,
so they are great for active babies and toddlers.
So if pockets are the only
cloth diaper options that suit your lifestyle & personality, then I can't think of a cheaper North American made
diaper other
than the Joy!
My son is one who has never had a
diaper rash while wearing
cloth diapers, though, and the soft cotton and fleece just seems
so much more comfortable to me
than the crunchy disposables.

I must admit I'm notorious for leaving disposables on a little longer
than they should, but I'm oh
so grateful for changing
cloth diapers and keeping baby girl rash free.
By doing
so cloth diapers can be reused again and again for more
than one baby making them eco-friendly.
It is not recommended to let dirty
diapers sit for more
than two - three days before they're laundered
so even if you do buy enough
cloth diapers to hold off laundry for longer
than that, you need to make sure you wash
diapers 3 - 4 times a week.
With the book I usually try to give them just one
cloth diaper so they can touch it, feel it, and maybe even use it for one of their new baby photos (because they are just
so much cuter in pictures
than disposables).
And then the thing after that..., the first innovation in
cloth -
diapering was called the «pre-fold» and all that is, is it takes this large square of single layer fabric and it folds it in a way and
so that it's
so in that..., and that the center is thicker and has more layers
than the sides do.
RUTHII SLATTUM: We found that
cloth diapers work really well for us particularly natural fibre
cloth diapers,
so organic cotton seemed to work better
than microfiber which tends to hold the ammonium and all that stuff and I feel that is when we get recurring rashes.
cloth diapers are much too high - maintenance and price wars have brought down the cost of disposables significantly,
so the savings take a long time to see (plus, it could be longer
than the life of the
cloth diaper - the technology is too new for there to be documentation of a full lifecycle of use).
That's a huge selling point to me because

cloth diapering so much more
than disposables.
I used
cloth diapers when we were running errands -LCB- short shopping trips, etc. -RCB-, but if we were going to be gone longer
than one
diaper change, I used disposable
diapers just
so I didn't have have to carry a bunch of dirty
diapers around in a wet bag.
SO it is half
cloth diaper half flushable
diaper and still greener
than regular disposables.
You might be a little reluctant because there is
so much more to know about
cloth diapers,
than disposable
diapers, right?
I also use only
cloth diapers so understand how they do have to be changed more often
than disposables.

so soft — inside and out —
so they feel more like underwear
