In this day and age, when we have wonderful companies such as Nestlé making wholesome babyfood, full of all the nutrients that baby needs (more
so than breastmilk), why are some people still so backward thinking as to believe that breast is anything other than beastly?

Not only do I nurse her a couple of times a day (other
than that she will not sit still long enough) I also pump
so that she can have as much
breastmilk as possible.
Now, researchers have found that the flavor of your milk is actually directly affected by what you eat,
so the
breastmilk is more likely to be «seasoned» with coffee and candy bars
than with mashed veggies, I would assume.
Every time I walked into a maternity store, I saw huge sections full of Medela nursing products; rows of nursing bras and fashions; special rooms for «nursing moms»;
breastmilk «test kits» in case a modern, socially active mom had one too many cocktails and still wanted to give her baby the best nutrition; baby and pregnancy magazines that consistently had cover stories on how breast is even better
than we thought before, and
so on.

than a pump at getting milk out of the breast,
so a new mom may find that her baby is eating more expressed
breastmilk than she's pumping.
So the number of babies getting
breastmilk is higher
than what is shown.
If feeds are less
than an hour apart, it may be that your baby isn't getting enough of the hind milk part of
breastmilk,
so they may need to feed a little longer on the first breast.
So, mouthful for mouthful,
breastmilk will always provide better total nutrition
than any other food.
He may eat fewer solids
than a child who is not drinking
breastmilk, but that is because
breastmilk delivers him
so many of the nutrients and calories he needs.
Breastmilk is far sweeter
than fruit,
so there is no reason to believe that the baby will take vegetables better by delaying the introduction of fruit.

breastmilk can be used for

than just drinking!
Even if a formula were just as nutritious as
breastmilk, breastfeeding is about

than the milk.

breastmilk alone.

breastmilk,
than the options my grandparents used it isn't even funny.
For saying out loud that
breastmilk may be a bit better
than formula, but not
so much better that women should torture themselves over it.

breastmilk gets most of its calories from fat (some 50 - 60 %, much of that being the dreaded arterycloggingsaturatedfat ™) and while the percentage of carbs is greater
than the percentage of protein, you could say bf babies are all on a «low carb» diet
so long as they are exclusively bf.
This awesome product holds up to two full ounces of
breastmilk at a time,
so it should be more
than adequate to catch everything during a letdown.
However, most mothers of premature babies who decide to breastfeed do
so because of the health benefits of
breastmilk for their at - risk babies, rather
than a simple desire to nurse.
I think I read that at first it takes just 90 minutes to digest
breastmilk,
so any longer
than 90 minutes of sleeping and they'd be burning calories instead of getting extras to grow!
While
breastmilk can be safely frozen longer
than these guidelines, the fat starts to break down,
so it is best to stick to these time limits:
Mothers who wish to continue provid - ing

than 12 months of age can do
so without having to submit a medical statement.
Nursing is about
so much more
than just nourishment, although that's a wonderful advantage of
breastmilk —
so good for baby's health.
Newborn bellies are tiny and
breastmilk is digested fast, way faster
than formula digests
so to someone not familiar with breastfeeding it may seem abnormal but I can promise you it is most certainly normal and it doesn't mean baby isn't getting enough breast milk or that moms milk isn't filling.
My daughter is now 2 yrs old
so her demand for
breastmilk is not as much as when she was less
than a year old.
I was producing a lot more
than my daughter was drinking,
so I thought it would be nice to help preemies receive some of the benefits of
breastmilk.
Unfortunately in a lot of these cases mom's are advised by NICU staff to slow down pumping as they have more milk
than they need, but the NICU staff may forget that babies grow and
so do their
breastmilk requirements and it's pretty easy to work through even a big stash of milk if supply starts to dwindle.

so easy and available that even WIC provides it * there is no reason for employers to provide time / space for pumping and daycares can get away with charging more for handling
breastmilk (even though it's less work
than preparing a bottle of formula).
Breastmilk contains plenty of water,
so babies less
than six months old who are exclusively breastfed do not need to drink water or other fluids.
