Soak dates for about an hour.
Pit and
soak the dates for 5 minutes.
Soak the Dates for 10 minutes (or just cover the Dates in water and microwave for 60 - 80 seconds if you want to be efficient).

date paste» to sweeten drinks — you basically just
soak dates in water until they are soft (
for a few hours or overnight), then blend in a blender or food processor until a paste forms, using as much of the water as required.

after doing a little research on how to use a
date in a recipe, i narrowed my options down to making a
date - paste (which is similar to agave),
soaking the
dates in hot water
for hours (no thanks ~ i'd like cookies sooner rather than later), or chopping them up in the food processor (sign me up).
