Miles for Kids Miles in Need: Provides worldwide support for children and their families, as well as for organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with needs for medical, educational, social services issues and / or for those that heighten public awareness of children's issues.

A new policy framework is needed — one that articulates overarching purpose and strategy; buttresses the supporting public - private partnerships; expands the collaborations to bring in social scientists, service providers, and end users, both domestically and internationally; commits the resources necessary for the long haul; and builds in the flexibility and responsiveness needed to keep pace with social change and evolving needs.

This body of research argues for the recognition of everyday legal needs and responding investment in affordable, community - based legal outreach, pointing to the very considerable social costs of non-resolution that are borne by social and health services, income supports, disability plans, and employment insurance, other social services (more information and supporting publications can be found on the Forum website).

As I wrote here, instead of legal services and supports provided in «justice silos,» such supports need to be integrated or provided in concert with other social services.
