A top rated Kenyan film maker and script writer, Njoki Muhoho, recently took a swipe at the
sorry state of the East African film
industry, blaming the woes on the inability
of the policy makers in the region to recognize the economic potentials
of the
industry.
There appears to be confusion between what is happening now — a non-virtuous circle where back - scratching is mutually done by scientists, politicians, NGOs, the media and
industry, keeping the climate gravy train running, and how this
sorry state of affairs began — a topic I thought Robert Swan was addressing and which I believed happened differently.
