My kitchen island is a mess regularly — my kitchen is original 1925 (drainboard sink / shallow cupboards / etc) and NO DISHWASHER — so I have to
pile everything on my island until I do the dishes it is a mess... it is also the place I put my
mail to
sort and magazines and newspapers that I read while having a cup
of tea.
Oh yeah, embracing the chaos that comes when home is church and work and school — so there's usually
piles of papers,
mail to
sort, laundry, crafts and creative projects waiting to be finished and so on:)
