The new building will include spaces for hosting public events, seminars and displays of the works currently being gifted by the charity to museums across the UK, as well as an archive of the thousands of works donated by the organisation over the past 100 years, along with a study centre and research facility focused on collection development for curators, academics and arts professionals.

The house has been used as a gallery, residency space, and centre for research into Flat Time since Latham declared it a living sculpture in 2003.

We learn about how the space works to actively maintain an ongoing archive and research centre, what developments have been made and the forthcoming exhibition «The Government of the First and Thirteenth Chair».

Recently, Struth has extended his investigations from the places of socioeconomic ritual and continuity to the means and mechanics of intellectual production by photographing facilities at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and complex machinery at research centres like the Max Planck Institutes in Germany.

The masterplan includes 3,000 homes (50 % available for University key - worker housing), 2,000 student spaces, 100,000 sqm of research space, a local centre and community facilities including a primary school, nursery, doctors» surgery, supermarket and retail units, as well as all of the site - infrastructure and landscaping for the scheme.
