It is surely good news to hear that
spammy guest blogging (to which many reverted after some of the latest google search algorithm update) is finally put on the spot.
This is slightly off topic, but do you think there's a risk that competitors could use
spammy guest blogging techniques as a negative link building strategy to knock out their competitors?
I do think that the Link Building profession will come up with some decent scalable link acquisition process at some point to replace
spammy guest posting.
Guest posts — Don't confuse old style,
spammy guest posting with getting your content featured in high quality, curated blogs with an engaged audience.
Not exact matches
I think as with all of these kinds of post,
guest blogging as a form of link building will be devalued, and
spammy, low quality, mass
guest posts will be dinged.
What I'm taking home from all of this is, if you plan on
guest blogging, be sure to only do it on a site that is owned by someone you know very well; and on a site that does not engage in any form of
spammy posting; and one that does not accept money for
guest posts; and one that only contains no - follow linking.
Guest blogging has become
spammy link building on steroids.
Here's the deal:
guest blogging purely for backlinks on a bunch of
spammy blogs with terribly written articles is a waste of time.
Truth is, the only thing that's dead is
spammy, nonsensical
guest articles posted for SEO reasons only.
If you really follow Google and SEO tactics, you might have seen Matt Cutts» article The decay and fall of
guest blogging for SEO, and if you don't read it carefully, it sounds like he's saying
guest posting has become a terrible,
spammy practice.
Advertising, commenting or offering
guest posts is one way to market books; as long as you don't seem
spammy.
But don't overload your potential
guests» email inboxes — too many emails can come across as «
spammy» and annoying.
I just want to highlight that a bunch of low - quality or spam sites have latched on to «
guest blogging» as their link - building strategy, and we see a lot more
spammy attempts to do
guest blogging.
