This generation of RS4 is (up to) 80 kg lighter than the old one (deep breath: the body by 15 kg, engine by 31 kg, front and rear axles 6 kg each, steering system 3.5 kg, sport differential 1 kg, quattro driveline 12.5 kg, ceramic brakes 8 kg and,
if you
spec them, milled wheels 8 kg), but is still a 1715 kg
car; about the same as the C63.
Sending that power to the ground is left up to either an eight - speed automatic with paddle shifters (as in our
car) or a good old 6 - speed manual; a
spec that may not be around for much longer, at least
if internet speculation is anything to go by.
