The city doled out $ 38.5 million in back pay to schools staff who were wrongly required to work overtime on a
buggy special education data system, according to payment details released today by the education department.
Additionally, the Director of Special Education will develop and maintain systems for documenting and
using special education data, ensuring that all schools are providing exceptional, compliant special education services to students and families.
DaSy's Communities of Practice (CoPs) offer state Part C and Part B 619 staff an opportunity to share lessons learned and promising practices in their work related to early intervention and
preschool special education data and data systems.
The appendices will include tables that provide the complete 2015 - 2016 survey data obtained from every state, as well as Head Start, child care, U.S. Census, and
special education data.
