I believe you need to be very specific in prayer.

There is a time that prayers are acceptable — out loud — and that is in the assembly of Yahweh with the people who are a part of that assembly, and the acceptable prayers would be blessing of our meals and the Bible study, then having something specific like someone sick and needs prayers, those type of things.

The silent prayer can be carried out for a specific time — say 5 or 10 minutes and timed by the chair person for the meeting, after the time slotted the chair person just needs to say «thank you» and the prayers is done.

So, Jesus needed to die and His death saving power was not sufficient for all, but needed to be consciously accepted (in some people's view with a specific prayer) in order to take affect.
