Delta has a few more options for
spending miles since it's a member of SkyTeam, one of the three major airline alliances.

For most people, I recommend a travel rewards credit card
since you can typically get enough bonus air
miles when you sign up and
spend a specific amount during the bonus period to get a free domestic flight.
Those four
miles comprised a small adventure in discomfort,
since I had determined to take the local buses, and
spent a good part of the journey hanging out of the rear doorway by one arm.
If I'd had time I would have
spent it with the foam roller
since by around the 5th
mile or so my IT band was getting pissy, so I'll have to do that later when I get home from work.
Since then, it's only on its third caretaker and retains only 2,153
miles on the clock, having
spent the past few years holed up in storage.

The Venture Rewards credit card is a great credit card option
since they offer a lucrative bonus for signing up and also two
miles for every dollar you
spend.
But consider whether your yearly
spending creates enough bonus
miles for you,
since the card comes with a $ 99 p.a. annual fee.
You would need 1,000,000 (yep, one million) Venture
Miles to redeem for that same flight, which would require
spending a whopping $ 500,000 on your Venture Rewards card (
since it earns 2
miles per dollar).
Its 40,000 -
mile bonus (if you
spend $ 3,000 in the first three months) isn't anything to sneeze at either — especially
since this card also has flexible redemption options.
Nevertheless, they were dedicated enough to
spend their Saturdays arriving at the shelter before dawn, bathing and grooming the dogs and cats (
since that job was rarely tackled by the shelter staff during the work week), loading them into portable cages, hoisting the cages into their cars and trucks, driving about 10
miles to the nearest shopping center, unloading the cages from the vehicles, calming the by - now terrified dogs and cats, and imploring the public for the next eight hours to please consider adopting one of these homeless creatures.
But
since you'll earn 1.25
miles for every dollar you
spend, the return is actually better than that.
Since I
spend a lot of time on planes, I don't often take longer routes to accrue
miles, and I'm too cautious about fees to sign up for other credit cards, though I know I could gain a lot of
miles that way.
In order to offset the fee, you'll need to
spend $ 2,225 to earn 4,450
miles (
since each dollar
spent earns 2
miles).
Even if you don't often fly with Singapore Airlines, you can still benefit from banking your
miles and earning status with KrisFlyer, especially
since it's so easy to get KrisFlyer
miles with credit card
spend.
It's hard to recommend
spending 230,000
miles just to get pampered, especially
since all airlines flying to India and the Middle East offer lie - flat seats in a business class cabin.
And
since the fee - free Chase Freedom Unlimited card earns 1.5 Ultimate Rewards per dollar it doesn't make sense to put
spend on the United MileagePlus Explorer, even with its 10,000
mile kicker for each $ 25,000 you
spend that makes it a 1.4
mile per dollar earner if you
spend $ 25,000 $ 50,000 a year on the card.
Spread out over 15 square
miles, and much like Angkor Wat, you could easily
spend days visiting all of the various ruins, temples and stupas located there, but
since we were limited to just one day, we focused on the major highlights.
Reading this chart is simple: if you're redeeming 70,000 Gold Points for one night at a Category 7 Club Carlson property, your imputed redemption value is $ 308,
since that's the value of the Barclaycard Arrival
miles you could have earned with the same $ 14,000 in manufactured
spend.
It's not nearly as awesome as the 50,000 United MileagePlus
miles that Hyatt was giving out at random last year, but it's a nice surprise especially
since I already expect to hit the required
spend.
Delta Air Lines and Airbnb have had a partnership
since late last year, in which Delta SkyMiles members can earn 1
mile per dollar
spent with Airbnb.
Since the card earns double
miles for
spending in all categories, each dollar you charge to the card is earning you two cents of travel.
And
since you'll get 2
miles for every dollar you
spend, you'll only have to make $ 2,154 worth of purchases to hit the mark.
Each Discover
mile is worth one cent, and
since you earn 1.5
miles per dollar
spent on all purchases, you are always earning the equivalent of 1.5 percent cash back.
This is one of the few times I'll actually probably change my
spend for a while to stock up on some American
miles since 3X is a pretty solid earning rate, especially for non-bonused categories.
Since Capital One rewards card cardholders earn 2
miles per dollar
spent, that works out to 2 % rewards on all purchases.
Plus I have more American
miles than Ultimate Rewards points,
since normally I book shorthaul American awards with Avios, so it probably makes more sense to
spend American
miles here.
Of course,
since the promo is a flat return of
miles my percentage of return will go down the more I
spend.
Since the first year's sign - up bonus is 40,000
miles, you would need to
spend around $ 20,000 to cover the annual fee without taking into consideration the value of the MQMs, which are one of the main reasons to have the card.
Since the card offers a 15,000
miles sign - up bonus, you'll more than cover the second year's annual fee just by signing up and meeting the minimum
spending requirement.
Since the annual bonus
miles are based off annual
spending, it's also best if the cardholder has a high enough income to be able to meet the $ 25,000 or $ 50,000 annual
spending requirements to get the bonus
miles.
With the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard «s 75,000 -

miles within a single year, but that shouldn't be a problem for most people
since most likely you won; t put that much
spend on this card.
You should be able to earn the first 25K
miles quickly
since the 20K sign - up bonus only requires a purchase with no minimum
spending threshold, and then the next 5K by adding two authorized users.
Since Avianca processes this purchase directly — unlike many programs that sell
miles through Points.com — the charge will count as airline
spend and should earn the appropriate bonus if using a card such as the Premier Rewards Gold Amex.
