I often add
a splash of buttermilk to my morning smoothies because I love the tang.
I was worried about my waffle iron, because I only have a Belgian one, and sometimes it burns thick batters, but with an extra tablespoon of flour and
a splash of buttermilk, they came out moist inside and perfectly crisp on the outside!
I've made this soda bread twice now and both times my dough has started out extra dry, but nothing a few
splashes of buttermilk couldn't bring together.
Gradually mix in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, alternating with
splashes of buttermilk.

of Greek yogurt (Sour cream or
buttermilk work really well too!)
But yogurt or a
splash of milk can be replaced for the
buttermilk if you prefer.
